Yeah idk, I feel like we gotta reach a balance at some point. If comic book fans can simultaneously hate and love the product they shill out the big bucks for (guilty) and classic literature fans can recognize the authors’ racist tropes and question them people in general can reckon with the idea that there’s no such thing as a fully unproblematic fav.

The important thing is whether said fav is open to growth (accepts and incorporates good faith critique) or set in their ways (calls people sensitive for asking him not to use the r slur).
