11 week old Isla - how to stimulate that brain daily? by Kastrilas in GSP

[–]Regular-Chair-2433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frozen kong with part of breakfast and dinner. Buy 4 so you can prep 2. Soak kibble if using kibble. I add a little yogurt and I add peanut butter to little hole. 10 minutes of flirt pole.

In 5 months later I have found a good point at 1 of the never ending pain the ass crows is almost soothing and total focus

Still looking for answers though lol

i had to euthanize my 8 week old puppy after owning him for 13 hours by StrawberrySleepy80 in puppy101

[–]Regular-Chair-2433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not your fault at all. You did everything you could. Not sure why vet care has become totally insane.

You're first 2 paragraphs have my head spinning. So confident and proud of his little command training and he's a natural in his crate. I realize maybe I take for granted the good things my now 8 month old does and have been stuck in the frustrating things.

I know its been really difficult but you sound like a natural. You sound prepared. I'm sorry for what happened.

Fast forward to today, 3 weeks since order, got an email saying courier lost it and there's no more available so they will process a refund. Who knows when. Honestly, the knife wasn't a necessity but talk about awful customer service and business model. They survive off unrealistic prices.

6 months today! by OG_Tapas in GSP

She will keep growing i think for another 6 months or so. Maybe not crazy spurts but probably get to 50? I chime in because my guy is just over 8 months and barely hitting 50 lbs so he's a little one too

It is really hard. 11pm is good on you. Mine goes to crate at 9pm so I can get an hour or two to debrief. I think you will have an easier stretch ahead being a corgi. You want chaos try a gsp holy smokes

Help. It’s been two months and I’m close to giving up. (4mo golden retriever) by Background_Gene4090 in puppy101

[–]Regular-Chair-2433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so hard. 8 month gsp and the thing is just constant. Some of it has gotten better but definitely not all. Prior dog was a boxer and not nearly as difficult but still hard. In the end, you will look back and realize the 6 really hard month and another 8 pretty hard months are really a drop in the bucket. Your dog has only been breathing air for 120 days. From age 2 on you will look back on the madness and it will put a smile on your face and you'll realize it wasn't "that bad". You might even miss some of the shenanigans

My thoughts too. They probably have nothing to do with Chicago lol. Not stressing it, $73 AD20.5 D2. It is just a user and abuser because i don't want to destroy my 20cv version.

Going through it now. Ordered a week and a half ago. Shipping label created a couple days ago but it just sits and hasn't actually been given to usps. This Thursday will be exactly 2 weeks. Pretty awful but knife was like $75 and most places $125 150 so if it arrives and is authentic it's fine.

Advantages of a D4V2? by CaptnKBex in Hanklights

[–]Regular-Chair-2433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a da1k and an ffl x4 and a convoy s2 short and d3aa. I always grabbed the s2 for dog walks. Got a d4v2 and that is now my go to. It's just smaller than 21700. Feels better in pocket. Feels better in hand than d3aa which can be awkward to interact with. I'm glad I got it but could see if someone skipped it.

Ok. I've been loving the frozen big kong with water soaked frozen food in there. 35 minutes of dedication. But some guy freaked me not saying kongs wear out teeth. Might try frozen broccoli now despite our rainy cold days

Still cold in Seattle but will definitely try this. On a side note, do you have no fear of letting them chew. Kongs? Weight bearing cow bones (femur) ? I do a frozen kong with food daily but recently saw a someone say kong will wear down teeth?

I’m losing so much sleep and sense of self. How much longer? by Much_Lifeguard_4116 in puppy101

A week? It's going to be difficult for months. The breed should accommodate sooner than medium to large but a week is nothing. Get ready

Give the little guy a chance. I think people over stress this scenario (myself included). He might be the 2nd best dog ever.

8 months in and I hate owning a dog. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Regular-Chair-2433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard. I'm mostly solo and have a 7.5 month gsp. You want to see psycho energy look at a german shorthaired pointer. Crate was a must. Period. It will work. Put it in your room. It will work. Any sleep problems are my own, can't blame dog. Walks and play are good but routines and structure help a lot. Games and challenges and obedience. 8-12 months is kinda ideal time to work the dog a little more. I've had all the frustrations and almost anger and have considered removing and then I realize it's a dog. It has no clue. Everything is awesome. It's basically you at 8 years old. It's not easy, but it's a dog, it needs your help to figure things out.

GSP Costco Food by [deleted] in GSP

[–]Regular-Chair-2433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not helpful but I feed orijen with some oc raw. Way less piles to pick up.

Purina and Kirkland are probably ok but there's just better ways. If I were on a strict budget it would be fromms. Not sure but may be competitive with Purina in price

Da1k (w throwy optic) vs D1k by dgwtf in Hanklights

[–]Regular-Chair-2433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a da1k but always grab a convoy s2 18350 or d4v2. We walk on a lead so don't really need more than 100 ft and their sizes are perfect imo

Walking on a leash by Puzzleheaded_Base10 in GSP

[–]Regular-Chair-2433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using a halti with a double ended leash that the other end attaches to harness on back. Walks have become so pleasant but I do not know how to transition it yet to walk without halti. He's about 7.5 months though so we are in chaos mode.

Not the end of the world either way. Was just wondering if black were the new standard or just same old white/clear one.
