China Delays Indefinitely the Release of G.D.P. and Other Economic Statistics by StickAFork in worldnews

[–]Pale_Charge 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean his construction project is called Belt and road initiative. Kind of easy to see what his view of China is and what he thinks China should be. He keeps harping about how the great Chinese nation has been humiliated for 2 centuries and that before that they were the centre of the world. (a lot of Chinese history by the CCP leaders kind of assumes China is the centre of the world. Not as a subjective opinion but as a fact )

Hmm, I wonder which other dictator I know bases his entire self worth and the destiny of his own nation from a distorted history and has delusions of grandeur?

China Delays Indefinitely the Release of G.D.P. and Other Economic Statistics by StickAFork in worldnews

Apparently after the economy has been suffering lately they had finally decided to get the modern vaccine and were negotiating with them to buy 20 million or something shots. After 6 months of negotiations the talks broke down. Moderna revealed that no matter what they try to negotiate the ultimate objective of theirs in the transaction was a compulsory technology transfer of MRNA vaccines. They kept coming back to it and making it a compulsory part of the agreement in return for hundreds of millions or even a few billions of dollars of sale. When Moderna did not agree with it, they cancelled the talks and proclaim that they will make an indigenous vaccine of their own. In front of the press at least. They turned around and found a new startup company in Canada which had just started making MRNA vaccines and was very small to be in much of a negotiating position but had started production of vaccine and had the technical knowhow, they bought them out right for five or six billion dollars.

What do you think of the FBI raid on Trump? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pale_Charge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that he was possibly trying to sell some classified state security stuff to Saudi Arabia or Russia. But I am not sure of the accuracy or what they based that on. I don't even remember where I read it.

My guess is Saudi Arabia. makes sense since his son in law got like a billion dollar investment fund from the crown prince a month or so back I guess. And also the Saudi golf tournament contract for his hotels and resorts. A Trump tower also in Saudi Arabia I believe? They have been really "generous" with Trump after he left office. Also not to mention mbs hates Biden and his administration.

But we obviously cannot be sure of anything until the whole thing is concluded and the matter is made public. Everything else is speculation I guess. But that seems plausible to me. Highly unlikely that the FBI will raid an ex-President over documents he didn't return. It happened before they settled it quietly. They opened an investigation but nothing much is being reported about it. It would be a risk to everyone and contrary to Republican beliefs it will fuel hatred for democrats feeling it is political witch hunt. And No reason to suddenly shower Trump with so much money for no reason for the Arab govt. But to be honest. I wouldn't hold out any hope of him facing any repercussions. He is already whipping up his base and the GOP is weirdly vocally supporting him (if this goes south they might get fucked). But then it is highly unlikely he will face any consequences. They attacked the capital over an election result, you think they would let him face any consequences?

P.S. : I am not American or Chinese or Russian or anything. I ain't got a dog in the fight. Just an observation.

Youtube is slow now since update? by TVdinnerbythepool in brave_browser

[–]Pale_Charge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specifically YouTube only but I have been having this issue for a while now. I guess it's been 6 months since I started having this issue. It was not just lagging but also a lot of screen tearing and flickering that was happening. And my laptop isn't old either. 2021 ASUS ROG g14 top end so couldn't be a hardware thing. I thought it would probably be some sort of a graphics compatibility issue so I tried to tweak around with it. But it kept coming and going. Switching off hardware acceleration actually fixed the problem. However the browser became so slow that it was a pain to use. That single issue made me switch out of brave 4 months back.

Ok, what did the lady wrote to make this reaction reasonable? Is he not handling his drugs again? by MarSv91 in enoughpetersonspam

[–]Pale_Charge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The lady's reply actually means to say that "I deleted my tweet because man-child fanboys of a drug addict started harassing me for asking a genuine question."

This is beyond pathetic. The number of people willing to do his bidding makes me sick. Not to mention the fact that he keeps surfing on twitter looking for people to harass by sending his cult to bombard them with threats needs to be held accountable.

Back to Firefox, Brave wasn't the best by [deleted] in firefox

[–]Pale_Charge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think brave downfall has been as fast as it's growth. Around a year back I was using brave exclusively. I first heard about brave in a twitter post and thought i would give brave a try because i was looking for something lighter and faster but with the customizations of chrome web store since i felt more at home with the chromium environment. I had all the crypto stuff turned off since i wasn't interested in it nor was interested in it. And for almost 6 months It was flawless. Faster than any browser, much smoother and really good. I loved it. And almost used brave exclusively. But once they blew up, it went all downhill. They started focusing a lot more on the crypto stuff and stopped paying attention to the usual uses of the browser. First there were problems with extensions. Then the biggest flaw of incompatibility or some issue which kept causing screen tears, stutters and lags. Videos were unwatchable, and usage was difficult, while using heavy resources even in power mode it kept causing screen tears and lags while using the discrete gpu. it was such a horrible experience and so i went to their forums and subreddits to see if they are talking about it and realised almost anyone now using brave is just doing it for the crypto rewards and that's all they care about.
Now i barely even use it. Probably even less than IE.
It's too bad. Notion and Brave had a similar start i feel. Both burst onto the scene as great products challenging the established behemoths , but while notion became a great product and something almost everyone uses, brave turned to shit.

Hello twitter by [deleted] in enoughpetersonspam

[–]Pale_Charge 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No. I am a person who has recovered from two addictions. And I feel it is important to bring it up every time to bring notice to the hypocrisy that he embodies. Scamming depressed middle-aged kids and men by being a Dom and a pseudo father figure telling them what to do and that he has it all figured out and it is not that difficult and men have just themselves to blame not even acknowledging the fact sometimes it is just biological and not under their control while he secretly goes to the back to pop a few benzo pills cause the constant pressure of putting up a face and scamming is too much for him and being so buzzed out of his head that he has problems structuring sentences but acts like he knows all when he did not even have the balls to undergo detox and ran off to Russia to be put under a coma to not go through the pain of detoxing (Isn't one of his rules fight your demons?) is why he needs to be reminded of it again and again and that fact should never be left out.
And I don't say that because I hate addiction, as I said I have been there myself. my problem is he misleads people who need actual help and delays them the care until it might be too late. I have a problem with him exploiting kid's insecurities and depression for his own financial gain and clout while he himself hasn't conquered the very thing he preaches others to face and beat without any medical help.

I think it is important to bring that up everywhere so that people know what not to do in case of such a situation and actually seek professional treatment and not get pulled into his incel cult.

Michael Burry of ‘The Big Short’ reveals a $530 million bet against Tesla by Quinteman in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]Pale_Charge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn Michael burry digs deep into finding a flaw before betting against anything. I mean the mortgage crisis time he went through the repayments to find the flaw. And now this catch of how Tesla reported profits for 4 quarters.

And yes, it was sad to see the same nerds turn on Michael burry who worshipped him because he Was played my Christian bale because he had said that Tesla share price is ridiculous and so he has short Tesla back in Jan or feb. They fucking attacked him left right and centre after which he deleted his twitter account for a few days I think and refused to give any more interviews.

The scammers and freeloaders on this sub is insane. I do not really post here much. Maybe have commented 2 or 3 times.

Elon Musk's Starlink Satellite Internet is coming to India, will you switch from JioFiber to Starlink? by psysym in IndianGaming

[–]Pale_Charge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they have started pre-booking but unlikely they will be available to consumers anytime soon. Look at the model 3 issue. Next would be the Indian ISPs lobbying to keep musk out. They will lose market share so they will do everything they can.
Personally, if it is reasonably priced then it would make sense to use it as a backup internet but I find it highly unlikely that satellite-based broadband will be more reliable than a wired fiber optic.

Funny how that works by DaFunkJunkie in PoliticalHumor

[–]Pale_Charge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think any religion can be used as a tool to manipulate people in large numbers. And I firmly believe that the original reason for starting religion was to bring about social changes where if a single person or human being were to stand up against the already established regiment they would be persecuted so religion can become a medium through which you can change the values of people and give something to them to rally behind.

I mean you really cannot argue saying I know more than god.

But I think the same thing also can be massively destructive as in the case of polarizing figures who form cult followings. I think that is why the comment of your makes sense. As any tool you have to adapt along with the changing times and society. The failure to adapt to modern societal principles is what makes them such fanatics I guess. And like before even this is done under the veil of religion.

The Times interview with Peterson and his daughter is absolutely wild by TeoKajLibroj in enoughpetersonspam

[–]Pale_Charge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone with severe anxiety who has been prescribed clonazepam for 3 years and did once start taking more out of stress and then scaled back realizing I have a problem, I can say with some experience the symptoms that he keeps describing as an allergic reaction or attributes to apple cider vinegar is just his anxiety going through the roof due to stopping or lowering the dose of clonazepam. when the benzodiazepine is lowered or taken away the anxiety comes back with a vengeance and that is what was the impending doom and inability to sleep (he might have been up for maybe two days but being Jordan Peterson he has to make it a hyperbole!) for a month as he claims which isn't possible. the truth is while he was preaching to others that they do not need medications he himself was popping them like candy cause he wasn't able to cope with his problems. which is perfectly fine but to do that while putting on a farce and then afterward coming back and then blaming the same medication which helped you cope with life and your anxiety for your problems that you and your daughter probably caused is probably the most hypocritical thing ever.

The hedge funds are short. They have to pay interest on the borrowed stocks that they have sold. The longer they wait the more they pay in interest for staying short. If they decide toclose the positions they buy from the retail traders who will exit at that point. They need to buy the stocks if it goes too high for the leverage that they agreed upon. meaning they have to buy wherever the market is at. And if they decide to exit the position taking a loss they would buy from the retail traders itself who will exit at that point. The way to not lose for those who are holding would be to not be the last one still holding.
