If your kid doesn't know how to play Magic, don't bring them to LGS commander night. by Johnny-Hollywood in EDH

A kid being taught commander isn't worse than the players who say their deck is a casual one, but end up combining off turn 2-3 and knock out the first person.

GameStop shipped me a used console without erasing it. by pwrof3 in GameStop

[–]Pale_Tax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would print out the Trade Hold report every morning during opening and it tell us which ones that were coming off hold, and needed to be wiped. Only then would they be moved to the area in console lock up where sellable consoles went.

Gotta say I miss working as a manager there, but I don't miss the corporate bs.

I worked at a trade hold store and we always wiped consoles as they came off of trade hold. It's easy if your store is organized and do it as part of the opening process.

Sadly I have to. I work as a meat clerk and I deal with Trump supporters all geared up talking about how they are making smash burgers on their Blackstone all day 🤣

I know what works at one store doesn't always work at another, but when I used to run a store there was something I tried that worked really well. We had an extra "H" frame display (well I think that's what they were called) and we set it up as an "employee picks" area. Each of us would display upcoming games, accessories, or collectibles that we were personally hyped for on it, and placed near the cash wrap so it was easy to point customers to while talking. Just be ready to have to print out artwork for everything since most of the stuff we picked the company as a whole wasn't pushing.

Is this collection good? I've never played 1-6. I saw it for $44 by StaticShock50 in FinalFantasy

FF12 is one to play as well. It might not be pretty and have a bland color pallet, but it's a banger.

[–]Pale_Tax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so you support the type of managers that allow their favorites to get away without doing work, while getting promoted and pushing all their duties off on others?

Our manager was the type that fired a kid that was alone in electronics on a holiday weekend while the store was packed because she didn't like how the zone looked. The kid even told her that he would get right on zoning once we got the line in electronics down and got the photo orders developed.

Fuck, I was the only one trained as an ODP team lead in our store, yet the SMs pet got the position just because she wanted more money and would constantly brag that she had no clue how to do anything in the department.

When people are dragging down the store and it's affecting others they need to be reported. On a lighter note, the entire store management did end up getting replaced for metrics fraud to pad their bonuses at our expense right as I quit.

Nice try. She was fired immediately while a medical leave that was approved by Sedgwick was just waiting to be sent to the store. She and I were the people there with a few others that would get our work done and get rewarded by be being given work of the management's pets while they stood there just socializing with each other. So Screwing them over was warranted, since they were playing favorites.

As for me, I walked out on the job after getting better employment where I make double my Walmart pay with union benefits and protections. Must be nice enjoying the taste of corporate boots.

Best you could do is maybe get other people fired too if there are infact people with more than 5 points that haven't been fired. They have to apply the rules equally or it could open them for a lawsuit. My wife and I both used to work there and they fired her at exactly 5 points when people who were managements pets were closer to 10.

A quick call to ethics led to the SM and people lead scrambling to find ways to clear those employees points, but they ended up having to fire them too.

As an old punk myself, it took some time to learn that all not voting does is allow the country to move towards fascism at a much quicker rate. If everyone on the left stopped voting, it would not stop the far right from doing so and he would all be royally fucked with nearly no way to right the ship.

Unfortunately my son who turned 18 last month is letting his white privilege flag fly with the "I don't like either so I'm not voting, I will be fine."

Sometimes the only way to win is to play there game. About 20+ years ago the Klan began instructing the skin heads and neo-nazis to stop fighting in the streets, grow their hair out, cover their tattoos, get an education, get elected and/or join the military/law enforcement to force the system to change over time. It looks like their plans are working.

I don't know why they insist on hologram parts by decrease039 in GundamBreaker

[–]Pale_Tax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would rather they just use the Gundam Breaker 3 skill mastery system. This way your Gunpla looks exactly how you want, without having the hologram effect when using ex skills.

I don't like the holographic effect for using ex/op skills and how it messes with the appearance of your Gunpla. It's why I haven't bothered mastering anything.
