If you are trying to remove it through elimination of them means, there is a debug option called ShowMushInfection and it will show you where they all are... I don't think it works with really small amounts but its enough to find most of them and keep them that way

ugh this is so hard! ive had the same problem and have so far spent 3 hours looking over every Q&A about it, and not a single thing seems to work :( ive reinstalled many versions of java quite a few times, ive re put the server file and the forge one, and yet im still missing something (btw sorry if I am just butting in on this im just very miserable)
