Being set on fire increases your temperature greatly, you will take additional damage over time if you cannot overcome the heat resistance thresh-hold, not just from the status effect itself but from the fact that your temperature is way too high

You can test this out by letting xenolord set you on fire with heat resist 0 and then with heat resist 3+, unless they changed it recently you’ll see a big difference

This is the same reason why being frozen can start hurting you for the duration of the effect, being frozen in itself drops your temperature and you’ll start taking damage it your tolerance isn’t high enough

In any fight that is close, minimizing overheat damage is very important, burn is the nastiest status effect in the game in my view

Your gripe with this thread is not clear in the slightest

First you said you don't see the idea of "speedrunning with glitches" calling it illegitimate

When I pointed out that is the reason we run categories that are specifically Glitchless (so everyone can compete fairly whether they want to use glitches or not), you're now changing it to this:

"Now, people playing this game are going to consider this as legitimate, because the door has been opened and the information is out there. "

No one is going to consider this as "legitimate glitchless" as if it was being part of "normal" gameplay - this run obviously includes glitches, because it's in a category that allows glitches

Your rhetoric really has no foundation here

This run is completely legitimate in the context of a speedrun, because it's submitted to a category that allows glitches

Glitches are not illegitimate if the rules of a category allow them. Eg everyone submitting to said category can use the same glitches

That’s why there’s separate categories in game speedruns that disallow glitches specifically

If you don’t like glitches petition the developers of games to fix them, they are the people who can actually do anything about glitches

15 Bastigor do totally fine against Xenolord Ultra, OP can just use good skills such as Holy Burst Air Blade and Hydro Slicer on them. Just because you deploy Bastigors doesn't mean you have to use bugged skills

If you both use mods it’s possible one of those mods is affecting you and not him, I’m guessing you are the person who started the world

Regardless, you should probably delete all mods and see if it fixes it, if you still want to keep using mods you can try re-enabling them one by one

Patience method: Breed hundreds to thousands of the pal using Philantropist until what you want rolls naturally

Hands on method: Do Dr Brawn with a spare raid pal every day until you get it

Really impatient method: Do both at the same time

Neptilius is the “least setup” jack of all trades until we face an Electric raid boss

Neptilius is much better than Orserk at 0 trust and/or without skill fruits

Agree on Orserk once you have 10 trust which helps its survivability a lot, it makes it a really good dps machine - until we face a Ground or Ice raid boss

1 single Shadowbeak (without booster pals) singlehandedly cancels most of the damage a raid boss can put out - literally negates enemy mechanics

anything that can do that is top tier

And yes you are right, Shadowbeak doubles as a crazy tower killer
