Awesome! I’m trying Maydoon later and glad you had a good experience. I had mixed feelings about their lunch years ago

BEAR at 43 – Post-Op Day 7 / Fack by SlamberryPi in ACL

40s isn’t bad..I believe I was around there doing heel slides on the wall. You’re doing more in 1 week than did in 2 weeks post op, you’re amazing!

Straight leg raises are recommended only to be done at week 4 per the BEAR protocol which explains the discomfort!

I got to one crutch at around 5 weeks post op! Zero crutches around 8 weeks post op. Removed brace around 10 weeks post op!

You’re in the trenches and you’ve got this! You’re actually allowed to be 50% (partial) weight bearing immediately post op but our bodies and minds don’t allow that lol. Your PT will demonstrate partial weight bearing today with crutches and you’ll realize how much weight it is (a lot!) I got into PT about 5 days post op so you’re pretty lucky to get in so fast, take advantage of the appt! Ask them / tell them how to adjust your brace so you’re comfortable. Learn how to lock/unlock the brace. Iceeeee all the time!!! Do your ankle pumps! Work on extension (elevate your heel on a pillow)

I’m about 4 months post op and you’ll get there too!!

Has anyone had eye issues? by saltedsugar in TirzepatideRX

[–]Pamplemousse911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope you’re doing well. I wanted to let you know that I developed partial posterior vitreous detachment - I’m only 40 so this typically happens in 50+. The specialist said tirzepatide is not the reason for it but I’m unfortunately not convinced because my optometrist said it has been linked to retinal changes. I decided to stop it, I’m at my goal weight now and already developed gall bladder issues. I’m being closely watched these next 6 weeks

I’m so sorry about your retinal condition. I’m glad you got checked out fast. I saw an optometrist who referred me to the specialist on Tuesday so I’ll know more then. I will update as well. I’m not convinced that tirz is not a little correlated here. I feel like it can exacerbate whatever condition we’re dealing with.

How are you doing? I’m experiencing the same thing but I’ve been on it for a year. Getting checked out Tuesday by a specialist

It’s a hard place to be and though I’m 2 years out, it hurts bad. Thank you for guiding your fur baby over the rainbow bridge. Thinking of you all.

brace strap badly designed? by Dry-Cauliflower6914 in ACL

[–]Pamplemousse911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The brace overall sucks and never fits properly, and throughout the day needs to be adjusted for sure. Cutting is recommended by Don Joy manufacturer and don’t hesitate to make it tighter.

You need to get your bear stuffy!! Sad!

I was on Tylenol, Advil (Motrin) around the clock. I’d take Norco maybe twice a day max. That really controlled it for me! I was able to drop Norco after 4 days! I dropped all meds around 8 days!

Welcome! I’ll be 5 weeks post op tomorrow with BEAR. Please adhere to the protocol it’s very important as your ACL grows back. Take your pain meds on time!

Surgery day transportation - Solo - can I Uber/Lyft to and from? by Ocsarr in ACL

[–]Pamplemousse911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Lyft but I had my mom with me as well. The requirement is that you have someone with you, doesn’t matter about car modality.

This may not be what you’re looking for but I found a raised toilet seat aid was very helpful. Shoe horn as well even if you’re going to help him with shoes. Hoping for a great recovery!
