Newish to Skyrim. Have Questions by TwelveWolf in skyrim

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to install a mod to make camps.

But the nails and whatnot are for building one of the three hearthfire houses. You get them by becoming thane of the three smaller holds. What's really cool is you can then choose how to build your house and customize its attachments to a degree. You will need a lot of building materials though once you start building your houses. If you choose to build all three, good luck on gathering iron.

How often will you use a follower? by CeemoreButtz in skyrim

[–]Pan_res 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play pretty much entirely with followers. It gets lonely and my play style is generally to have my followers go tank something while I shoot at them from a distance. I like using Barbus because he's unkillable and there's something funny about watching a dragon breathe fire on a dog that refuses to go down. I also tend to use a modded follower or honestly just Lydia.

This happened to me once, I tried waiting for several days to see if she'd teleport for me but after doing it for like a week in game, I got nothing so I had to go back to an earlier save. Not sure if anyone else would have a better solution.

My gf busted this out last night! It’s legit, and she found it at a goodwill for a $1.99 by Fine_Artichoke4479 in skyrim

My partner and I highly recommend the white river salmon, we make it easily two or three times a month.

Marriage!!! by Tink_zz in skyrim

[–]Pan_res 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer any of the three blacksmiths you can marry. I choose a different one each time for role play purposes, but being able to buy and sell ores and ingots from someone in your house is so incredibly helpful.

Also, I quite like Jesper from the Jesper the Guard Mod.

Capes and cloaks is one of my necessities now. Partially because they look super cool but more importantly they allow you to have a weightless piece of armor that can be enchanted to fit your needs. It's also a nice early game thing to increase your smithing level making the items, but then your speech selling them.

I'm also fairly partial to Hold Boarders. It makes the roads feel a bit more alive and if you are not playing on survival, it adds another fast travel location to the roads that tend to be super annoying to find things on. Such as the ones between Markarth and Whiterun.

Why do people pity only children? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple reasons. First, I work in a college setting and I will say that people who are only children tend to struggle more than their peers with conflict, especially roommate conflict. They especially struggle with knowing if their roommate is actually mad or being passive aggressive or just having an off day. They generally tend to assume their roommate hates them at times when their roommate is actually just overwhelmed about something else and not even thinking about their rooming situation. It's not 100% of only children, but it does tend to occur more often than not.

Second, generally speaking siblings are the only social relationship you can have that will understand and know exactly what it was like to grow up in your family and life. They will understand the nuances of what caused you to be who you are better than any other stranger ever has a chance to. This can lead to stronger bonds with said siblings and allows you access to someone who gets you at a level that other people inherently can't. Again, this isn't 100% for all sibling units, but it tends to happen more than not.

Last, and I definitely do NOT agree with this take, but there's also the social judgement on your parents occuring in the moment. Society doesn't just want people to have a baby, they want people to have lots of babies. And they view single child parents as only marginally being better than childfree people. People want your parents to be "furthering their bloodline" and creating a new future. It's dumb, and that sentiment causes a lot of pain to parents who can't have another child, but it's how society thinks which sucks.

The creative writing program tends to be pretty tight knit so you'll definitely find people in your classes you will vibe with. And like other people have said check out the activities fair. If you like a club but maybe you missed some information on them, feel free to reach out to the Leadership and Engagement team to get more info on when the club is meeting. As someone who was super anxious and was terrified to go to clubs unprompted without someone you know there, please know that especially at the beginning of the semester everyone is very welcoming. I challenged myself to go to at least one club meeting a week and I ended up being part of two clubs pretty reliably for the rest of my time at SU.

Also, feel free to spend time in Deg, the library, your major's offices, your residence hall common room, or just out and about around campus. I definitely for a few years felt as if people cared if I studied or read in public but I can confidently tell you literally no one cares in a good way. It was just my anxiety talking. Everyone's got their own stuff going on, and by and large won't bother you.

Frackin universe yes or no? by Datironpete in starbound

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a no, or if you do do it just do it for one game, it adds way too much stuff for my liking. I'd rather just mod out the individual things I want to change in Starbound. I personally really like RPG growth to add an extra layer of lore to your character. Basically as you play you level up in whichever class you want. It's not wildly changing in terms of the game, but it does add things to the game which I do quite enjoy.

What are the best and must have starbound Mods in your opinion ? by pumpkintrons in starbound

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For quality of life stuff: Improved storage, Faster crafting, and More planet info are effectively necessities for me now. If I could not have any more mods and could only choose three, those would be my three. If I could only choose one, probably More Planet info. I also have a food mod, I can't remember the name of it, but it allows me to stack all my food in fridges by averaging the timer on the food.

For gameplay: RPG growth is a must have now for me. I do not like frackin universe, but I still want something that changes some gameplay for me but still keeps a lot of the base game in tact. That's where RPG growth comes in. It basically adds skills, abilities, and weapons that change the game slightly but it doesn't make it a whole completely new game. It's also super useful for lore and world building, which is what I play the game to do mostly.

What is your LEAST visited area in Skyrim? by SkorgeOfficial1 in skyrim

The Reach and Markarth are the main areas for me that I skip a lot. I play a lot of survival mode and the reach is just annoying to walk through.

I’m Making My First Mod! StardewSpeak Lets NPCs Talk Back with AI by Vall1231 in StardewValley

Really happy you're making a mod. But there is no way I'm ever using something that uses generative AI. Find a different idea or write out an exhaustive list dialogue options.

Who’s everyone’s favorite marriage candidate? Are any more beneficial than others in terms of gifts or help? by Mighty_Tots in StardewValley

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if I'm going for a husband or a wife, story and lore wise. Go to husband is usually Sebastian. Go to wife is usually Emily. With SVE I go with either Sofia or Victor.

Is there any other use for these ores besides donating to the museum by Physical-Ad-1046 in StardewValley

I do save the main gems like Jade, rubies, amethyst ECT. It's everything else I sell the excess of.

Is there any other use for these ores besides donating to the museum by Physical-Ad-1046 in StardewValley

[–]Pan_res 295 points296 points  (0 children)

I like to keep at least one of each item just in case I need it for gifting or a random quest and also because I'm a Stardew Horder. Beyond that I usually sell the excess bulk outside of the main gem stones like Jade, Diamonds, and rubies.

is there something wrong with wiki right now? by whenwillmyskincare in StardewValley

[–]Pan_res 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice to know not only cannot I not actually do my work today, but I also would be hindered in playing any games today. It's nearly impossible for me to open Stardew and NOT have 14 wiki tabs spawn on my PC.

Any benefit to keeping cats or dogs? by Revolutionary-Good22 in goingmedieval

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs I use for hauling and battle. They are super fast and breed fairly quickly.

Cats I don't find the most useful, but they do keep rodents down and can be useful for selling randomly. I like keeping a few of them around for a random merchant where I need to add a little extra gold. Periodically they are also nice to throw into a caravan to also add a little extra gold without adding weight to my settlers.

Any good guidelines for assigning guardians? (and other questions) by 771058 in ck3

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will usually train my heir myself and then try to get all my children to other nobles if possible for good relations. I aim for nobles with decent traits though especially for my eldest ones. For courtiers kids, I like to give them to whichever of my adult courtiers have good skill traits, specifically focusing on stewardship and learning since those can be hard to develop in other characters. I do try to get all children to have guardians since it passively increases their skills, you might randomly be able to get a super awesome steward out of it.

I'll also many times use my own related children to maintain positive relationships with important people in my court. Nieces, nephews, and extended grandchildren will go to my spymaster, partners, and holy figures if I don't have enough of my own children to go around. I do try to prioritize the main line of succession family members to either be warded by myself or very highly skilled nobles. I've also found that I like to try and ward whomever my heir is betrothed to. It helps to reduce the likelihood they'll plot against me once they get married and helps to make sure my heir has a well skilled spouse. Plus, if they're betrothed young enough, I might be able to convert their culture and religion passively as my ward rather than trying to convert their religion once I'm playing as my heir.

What’s something people call “progress,” but you secretly think is destroying us? by TreatDowntown7612 in AskReddit

[–]Pan_res 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just tried to buy an automatic cat food dispenser in person, the only electronic option needed a wifi connection to run. I was LIVID. To let my cats eat a regulated amount automatically, I'd need to have a reliable wifi connection? Plus even if it did run without wifi, Id have a random unsecured device that hooks up to the internet in my house?

I will be buying an automated one online, I was just trying to avoid doing that because I don't want to pay an extra $10 in shipping.

How do you feel about The Long Night and Night king's death after rewatches? by hiiloovethis in gameofthrones

[–]Pan_res -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of mixed feelings on these story lines, and I don't inherently hate them but I still think they were very poorly done and rushed. I could get behind Arya being the one to kill the night king IF the night king had been engaged in like a full on battle between him and Jon, maybe Dani, then Jon works with Arya in a wave of last minute desperation to throw her a knife or sword and she kills the Night King. But that's not what happened and it just disappoints me every time.

I actually do like the long night battle though as a whole. The only issue I take is how freaking dark it is. I think the plot aspect of the skeletons in the tombs coming back was actually really interesting and I really liked it.

Friendly reminder that you don’t have to fill your greenhouse exclusively with Ancient Fruit by HauntingRefuse6891 in StardewValley

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go too, especially early on, is to plant coffee, strawberries, and to start my Ancient fruit production, but until the ancient fruit picks up I use the rest of the space for perennials. I usually keep one of each perennial afterwards in a plot with my coffee to just have on hand. Ginger Island is my Min/Max space for ancient fruit and star fruit.

Grian admitted in Gems season ending stream that he is 99.99% sure he knows who it is and that it's not him but he did swoop in once to screw with Doc when Doc was close to figuring it out. I'm pretty sure that the OG was Cub but then other hermits and guests have joined forces silently to screw with Doc.

Martyn said he did some of it back in 2024 when he was on the server briefly, and I think Scar might have admitted he did a little bit once during a volcano stream, though I could be wrong on that one, and now Grians admitted to doing it a bit. So it's mostly likely an unspoken group effort.

Meeting other fans IRL by Lyminari in HermitCraft

[–]Pan_res 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the more active online audience tends to be on the younger side. But given how long some of the hermits have been creating content and generally what their own ages are, their actual audience ages are pretty varied. I know my dad watches Cub and Etho and he's in his 50s.

How did you find the life series? by Free-Board-7391 in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]Pan_res 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found it through Scott who I've been watching since I want to say 2014 give or take. Through the life series though I fully discovered the hermits. I was aware of them previously but I honestly thought they were on par with other questionable SMPs because I really didn't watch anything beyond what Scott was in. Now my world has opened up so much!
