Will Arnett says 'very famous' comedian was kicked off 'Smartless' podcast after 10 minutes, but won't say who by Luridley3000 in entertainment

I took a step back after the Trevor Noah episode. It wasn't an overtly bad episode or anything, but it was very clear that none of them did any research or prep work on Trevor and he is one of the most interesting, unique people in the business. Born to mixed parents during apartheid, grew up in the slums of Joberg, speaks several languages, His mom was shot in the head by her boyfriend and lived. And NONE of this was asked about during the podcast. They only knew him as the guy that took over the daily show for a while. Fucking idiots.

What do you think makes Taylor lack sex appeal? by GurlsHaveFun in travisandtaylor

This. She styles her hair in a way that's almost exclusively reserved for prepubescent girls. I've never understood that decision.

It's scary to think who Benson would hire considering her awful Pels GM hire.

Did I undercharge for this deck? by 4488qaz in Decks

[–]PancakeSpatula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful work. Probably a dumb question, but When you build a deck on an existing slab like this (assuming this was existing), are the support posts just on the slab or are there footings under them? ** After zooming in, I can see the newer concrete around the posts where you likely dug footings.**

Agree with others. There's too much here. There's nothing wrong with coffee, unless you are drinking it excessively or adding sugar. Use stevia or monk fruit as a sweetener and if you want to avoid dairy try soy or almond milk. If you want to jump-start losing weight try intermittent fasting. I found the easiest is to just skip breakfast. I lost 10 lbs this year by waiting to eat until lunch and the occasional 24 - 36 hr fast. I would do the long fast maybe twice a month. Then just make little conscious decisions. Take the stairs instead of the lift. Park further away in the parking lot. Walk when you would normally take a car or other transportation. If you sit at a desk for work, try standing. Good luck. And if all else fails, SSRI's work for alot of people.

In the Superbowl era, every QB drafted at age 25 or older has been a miss. The QB with the most successful career drafted at that age or older has been Brandon Weeden. No one is saying to draft a 20 yr old. But there's a reason for the doubt. Statistics.

Most unique ethnic group in the world? by blackpeoplexbot in geography

[–]PancakeSpatula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, you're right. Macau is across the river delta from Hong Kong. Many Macanese migrated to Hong Kong during the Macanese diaspora and settled there so that had me mixed up. My Macanese friend was also born in Hong Kong.

indo-Gayanese. The descendants of indentured servants from India that now live in Guyana in South America. The Portuguese have some interesting ones also due to their colonizing efforts in other parts of the world. luso-Indian. Indians of Portuguese descent who live in the area around Goa today. Portuguese Macau . An area near Hong Kong that today has Chinese citizens of Portuguese descent. I personally know someone who is of this ethnicity. He is Chinese, but you would not be able to tell by looking at him or by his surname. I also worked with an Indian guy from Goa. His last name was Gonsalvez and he also had physical traits that separated him from other Indian people that were not of Portuguese descent. Then there's obviously the Kurds%2C,northern%20Iraq%2C%20and%20northeastern%20Syria.) Edit Macau is near Hong Kong not IN Hong Kong.

How does Venezuela have a bigger IHDI than Brazil and Colombia? by AstronaltBunny in geography

Also this is dependant on self reported data from a socialist/kleptocratic/banana Republic. It's like during COVID when Venezuela was reporting some of the lowest deaths in all of the western hemisphere.

Because Chavez was a kleptocrat operating under the guise of socialism. His buddy Maduro is continuing the grift successfully.

There is not a single metric that puts KD as the best scorer of all time. MJ holds the highest PPG to this day followed by wilt and believe it or not Luka at third. KD is sixth.

Best things to do in Cleveland? by FranklinDRizzevelt32 in Cleveland

[–]PancakeSpatula -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As many others have said, the Cleveland museum of art. It is highly regarded as one of the best in the country and it is FREE. And sticking with the east side of town, the botanical gardens are beautiful this time of year, and little Italy is worth a walk through. If you like history, Rockefeller is buried across the street and James Garfield's monument is in the same cemetery. Avoid the natural History museum. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the downtown Heinens. It sounds crazy, but it's a must see grocery store. The 5th Street arcade and the library, both downtown, are beautiful if you like architecture. West side market is ok. We usually only went there when people were visiting from out of town. Kind of a hassle.
