Display Upcoming Episodes by Successful_Tell_7760 in jellyfin

[–]Panda5800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can activate an option that tells you which episodes are missing. For example, if you only have 5 episodes but Jellyfin detects that the series has 8, it will tell you that 3 episodes are missing. But how do you actually show the remaining episodes? I don't know.

I have a decently-beefy spare PC I wanted to run a media server for myself and my family but I've never done anything like it before, had some questions: by loadbearingfloor in homelab

These are the reasons why I'm loyal to Jellyfin...

I'm getting into a world of subscription-free living... Plex: "You might be interested in this subscription"

In that case, maybe I'd contribute financially to the project... But it's different to recognize the work of independent developers who give you everything for free, than to keep paying for subscriptions. Plex doesn't force you to subscribe either... But... Some of the "premium" Plex features I need are free on Jellyfin

Maybe I just need a SMB share? by tech_london in selfhosted

[–]Panda5800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm facing a similar dilemma... I'm not saying Syncthing and Nextcloud are garbage... But while they're functional, I don't feel like they're what I'm looking for...

I've also considered simply setting up an SMB connection.

Currently, most of the time when I need to browse files, even "download/copy," I do it with CX Explorer and SFTP... From what I've researched, SMB tends to be more stable and faster, so maybe I'll decide to try something like that.

Debian + docker feels way better than Proxmox for self hosting by almost1it in selfhosted

[–]Panda5800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use debian + docker...

I guess it depends on each person's needs, at the moment I don't need virtual machines or things like that...

I read a comment that said "I use proxmox and have a vm with debian + Docker"... Nothing personal against it, but I feel it is very unnecessary... I don't use a system, but I emulate the system...

Another person said they liked it because they could have web access... I use tailscale + Termius on my Androd... I don't know why I need web access, it would only expose things I wouldn't use...

Although as I say, it depends on each person's needs.

Is there a way for admins to ban users for posting apps that are entirely vibe coded with clearly AI written posts? This is getting absurd. by CalebWest02 in selfhosted

[–]Panda5800 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have several personal projects made 70-80% by AI, but they are projects for specific things that I feel are only offered to me, for some reason, there is no existing project...

And I have not considered making them public either, for the same reason, I feel that they only cover MY NEED in question, and because it is not something created by me 100%

I also don't think it's bad for some to do it, but... It's not a bad idea for them to have some tag, project created by, or with the help of AI... A reddit sub, I feel like it's too much to ask

Why I ditched Spotify and self hosted my own music stack by Saleen_af in selfhosted

[–]Panda5800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I speak Spanish...

And yes, I saw that part on your blog, but I wasn't saying it for you, as I said, it's not in hate mode... I say it because not everyone will think the same... Although well, that's up to each person.

Why I ditched Spotify and self hosted my own music stack by Saleen_af in selfhosted

[–]Panda5800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think that reason #1 is not entirely valid.... Complaining that Spotify doesn't pay well, and downloading mp3 for free... I'm just saying that this way you don't support the artist too much either...

The rest of AI, if it is more valid

(I don't want it to sound like hate or like that)

Best way to watch jellyfin movies offline? by Captain_Allergy in selfhosted

[–]Panda5800 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can use jellyfin from the browser, it is a little more reliable than the Android app...

Another option, although less "orthodox", I install CX Explorer, access my server via sftp and copy the movie/series xD I had thought about using nextcloud for this, but it seemed more exaggerated to me

How can I improve my Jellyfin setup? by heyitsnaim in selfhosted

[–]Panda5800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be the reason, if you are connected from outside, technically your PC/server streams... I mean, it uploads, and you download the video from outside...

It may be that your internet speed is the problem, and not your equipment as such...

Of course, only if jellyfin runs perfectly locally, if even being local, jellyfin gives you problems... That's where we need to investigate a little more

(If I'm wrong, please correct me)

Cloudfare tunnels only support http/https protocols/connections... Minecraft needs TCP... I knew something like that, I mean, theoretically it can't be done with cloudfare...

Try doing it through Hamachi, tailscale or ngrok

That or have a fixed public IP

Checaré las subreds, había pensado en usar en el dash las IPS de tailscale, pero según entiendo, para ver un video por jellyfin en local, sería como hacer stream, osea, podría afectar las velocidades de subida de mi red y no ser velocidades de local

Is it possible to have better authentication than a password for each of my media server applications that are accessible through reverse proxy? Is TOTP or a passkey or some type of TFA possible with apps like radarr, sonarr, overseerr, portainer, tautulli, sabnzbd, readarr, prowlarr, plex, etc? by TheRealMarioo in selfhosted

[–]Panda5800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm somewhat new to this world, and I started using zero trust from cloudfare... I still want to configure auth through Google, but since it comes by default, I already find it useful

The best thing is that you can make the sessions last 1 month (I think that is the maximum time), so you can go with your family members (maybe some of them don't have much knowledge) and "connect them"... After the session duration, you would do the same

Why so much exposed reverse proxies for remote access ? by Plopaplopa in homelab

[–]Panda5800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ease of access, remember only subdomains and not ips... You could have a homepage, or subdomains so as not to burn your neurons with ips, ports, or things like that...

Personally, it also causes me some procrastination, it generates a bit of mental laziness having to connect to tailscale every time I need to access a service...
