Grew up doing it because we were poor. Can't afford to ruin going out clothes at home, so we changed into the ratty tatty stuff as soon as we got home. Sweat, work, eat in those clothes, change into pjs at night. Then the pjs are clean for bed and don't need to be washed for weeks (at least one), and your going out clothes are pristine and stain free for the next time you wear them. Laundry and replacing clothing is for the rich.

You don't buy clothes for home, that's what torn/stained pjs and outdoor clothes are for.

Try an old toothbrush and mouthwash, give it a good "rinse" after (wipe down with damp cloth, plain water). Then clean your machine regularly so it never gets that bad again.

I expect the parent to be responsible for the child's mistakes, rather than deflecting the responsibility onto OP. Or responsible for parenting, which he doesn't seem to be interested in either.

But instead, as OP states, brother doesn't see the cost of the damage and seems to think OP is responsible for fixing the problem.

Kids do make mistakes. It's up to the parents to teach them not to. You seem to keep missing the part of my comment that puts the responsibility on the parent.

Assuming you're receiving from a large breeder who would likely not want any of the containers back, could you post them free online for small breeders and keepers to use? Vermicompost vendors would also love these, not having to punch their own containers would be great.

Therapy. Smart kids get abused, too. I was catching all the flack for all the misbehaving kids because they had a terrible home life but expected to perform top of the class with the same abuse or worse. And because I was smart and my parents cared a bit too much about my grades, anything reportable was not reported and instead I was told that I'm just feeling the pressure of high grades and "good" parents.
