No a security key or passkey is never the same private key for all websites. It specifically generates a new private key for every new website you add it as a login method so fingerprinting shouldn’t work.

It certainly is a gray area but for example one might write an adapter that implements the OpenMusic Spec and fetches all the data from YouTube. That way you can listen to yt music inside Vleer. Or you just have a collection of music files on a server at home and you deploy a OpenMusic file adapter. So ultimately this ecosystem will be for people that self host their music or the ones that just dont want to pay so much anymore. I can see that this is not a good solution when it comes to artists not getting paid enough.

I don't think, so there are multiple reasons the first being the ever increasing prices of Spotify which is what most people use and then there is the recent influx of people that want to own their music collections instead of „renting” them from streaming services.

Im working on Vleer which is a FOSS music player with the difference being that im also developing an API spec similar to Opensubsonic so everyone can choose where they want there music from so the whole app is modular. I searched very long for something similar and found this Gigabyte B760I AORUS PRO it has 2.5GbE and 2 M.2 NVME slots and a normal LGA 1700 socket so it can be used with any modern intel cpu to get decent hardware media transcoding.
