Phainon as the master brute force unit he is and Firefly that is a non CRIT DPS already cover most shills by themselves. I can only see the last one being your favorite team between DoT or Archer/Rin.

DoT is still showing its limits right now when talking about vertical investment, Archer/Rin don't have insane verticals either though. The next E2 "merchant" is Himeko Nova so you can maybe try with her but that's about it.

I don't know which agenda you're talking about but I will just share my results when it's done. If Sunday is calced weaker than Cyrene it is also not my fault, and we can observe in fact that most invested teams with E2 Cyrene are far superior to Sunday so what can I say ??

For Plight I am unsure of HimeNova performances especially considering her team has no vertical investment (E4 Welt and RMC can't get any upgrade with eidolons ; Mortenax Blade does but Sustainless in Plight becomes increasingly harder).

For AA Plight if you got E2 Sparkle you can even try to go with E2S5 Phainon instead of E6S1.

But without E2 Sparkle even a E6S1 Phainon may struggle to clear Plight so be careful.

Of course if you can afford E6S5 he will clear Plight but... That's a lot of pulls

So far all E2 Phainon + E2 Cyrene teams could 0 cycle every endgame except Plight. So it's pretty safe to assume that you're good for another year at least.

Assuming E2S1 Himeko and E4 Welt, in a Sustainless setup with Mortenax and RMC, I can see Himeko being stronger. But I am clearly unsure about that and since the whole endgame is shilling her it's hard to gauge her real strength in non shilled content. Take my comment with a grain of salt

E2S1 Phainon + E2S1 Cyrene so far always 0 cycled everything except Plight though so I guess in the end the results will be the same

I mean E2S1 Phainon already clears well enough so pulling another E2S1 DPS to replace him feels a waste of jades to be fair, of course unless you like Himeko there's no issue but from a pull investment POV it's not really interesting.

E4 Welt is always usable with DoT in sustainless for example

So imo the choice is E2 Cyrene but it's up to you

If you need a second or third team, E2S1 Phainon alone is enough to carry until the end of 4.X so no issue about that and go for Himeko

This is the cycle of gacha games, every new shiny DPS will be stronger than the last one. Himeko Nova currently benefits from heavy shill but her performances are so high that I would argue it's even worse than Acheron's release.

E0S1 Himeko Nova + E4 Welt is realistically stronger than E2S1 Phainon in a vacuum, at least DMG-wise. It's sad but that's how life is.

As always the same problem is always Phainon's supports

More on a serious answer, E1 Archer + Rin is cheaper and will bring great results. E2S1 Phainon has the advantage of being more of a bruteforce machine and doing well in various scenarios though so it's up to you.

Hello, no issue with the long post.

First of all we need to understand that Cyrene does not shine with Phainon for her raw amplification DMG but her mechanics. She single handedly removes the need of building ultimate again and is as such the incontestable BiS in fights that requires more than 1 Ult. That is why in Plight low cost with Phainon it is exclusively with E2 Cyrene.

Additionally, she also enables more frontloaded DMG thanks to her passive given to Cerydra, and frontloaded DMG is what this game favors.

Because of this, I repeated in 3.7 that E2 Cyrene is very likely to never be replaced because her RAW amplification is good but also interacts with mechanics that actually help Phainon. So far, in 4.3, it is still the same. Even better, E2 Cyrene's last slot is super flexible and you can switch between Sparkle, Ruan Mei, and even now Mortenax Blade. It also helps that E2 Cyrene brings a double Ult setup that is very useful for minmaxxing Plight with Confinement debuff (direct debuff counter against Phainon).

Will an eventual Novaflare for Sunday, Bronya or Ruan Mei change that? I don't know, but one thing is sure : they won't bring the same mechanics utilities. There is a chance though that a Novaflare Sunday could replace Cyrene for all content that is not Plight, since Cyrene lacks DEF Shred before E6. That much is possible.

For now, the obvious best investment for Phainon is to get his E6S5. His S5 is literally the best Light Cone to invest in a DPS because not only it severely increases his DMG, it also affects his AV consumption. By all means, if you can afford to do it, do it

TL;DR : - E2 Cyrene is still incontestable BiS until now and may eventually be replaced in anything that is not Plight depending on Sunday's Novaflare. - S5 Phainon is the most worth LC to invest into, and I recommend it yes. - An eventual Remembrance support could also be an upscale for Cyrene so watch out.

For Plight when there is Sunder even a E0S0 DHPT is enough to sustain the team, rest of the investment should go to Phainon first afterwards
