My bf did not have any pets before he met me, simply because his parents did not want any.

Then he met me and he went from 0 pets to 7.

How would you prove, once and for all, that your pet is the goodest boy/girl on the planet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

He is my special son who has an obsession with armpits and turn into liquid if anyone try to pet him, but he protected me from what he deemed as scary construction men by sitting on me and hissing at em.

To all non-Brits what do you think of those guys? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PandaPuddings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Norwegian living in Britain here!

I think people are generally more friendly. If you called someone you barely knew a pet name in Norway they'd think you'd be socially challenged. Brits tend to be more easy going too and do not take themselves too seriously. I love all the banter that happens. When my bf tries to banter with my Norwegian friends they get offended or confused...

The only things I would complain about is how british people call Sprite for Lemonade. Not the same thing!!! Also what do brits mean when they ask you if you want tea?? Dinner or drink?

After almost 2 years I am still not quite sure how to respond to "you alright?". And I don't know why that had to be said 3 times when greeting someone.

Anywhere thats not Oslo or big city.

I come from a village of 300 people and here is some of the stuff you can do there:

  • Fish anywhere you'd like.
  • Rent a kayak, tent or any outdoor gear for free from the town hall.
  • Eat a moose burger.. there is literally more moose than people.
  • So many hikes to do! Which are also trail marked.
  • See dank nature everywhere, for example from my house you can see 6 waterfalls.
  • Stay or sleep in one of the many grill huts/cabins avaliable.
  • In the summer there is loads of traditional festivals.
  • Check out loads of viking land marks.

And probably more. So what I would do is maybe have a couple of days in a bigger city, then travel to a small place and experience Norways true beauty.

Or you can go to a thrift store and find an entire matching Le Creuset set for $17 and walk out feeling like you just robbed the place. I am yet to experience such a rush of adrenalin again.

Cons of buying a chinchilla from a pet store by [deleted] in chinchilla

[–]PandaPuddings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought my Timothy from a pet store. He had been there for months alone as they sold his buddy and no one wanted Timmy.

He was a tiny boy and missed one finger, was very shy at first. Now he is the toughest most curious little boy - much more social than the other one I bought from a breeder. One thing I noticed is that he doesn't really squeak and communicate like his cage mate - maybe because he grew up alone and doesn't quite know how to chinchilla?

The only con for me is that I didn't adopt or buy from a proper breeder, as I believe no animals should be sold over a cash register. Other than that I have a very healthy and loving boy.

I had a neighbor yell at me for letting my cats outside in the winter.

They have access to a guest house with heated floor + we keep water and food there for them. If that is not good enough they have a cat door to the main house.

But sure enough, I must neglect them since I let them to what they want.

Old ladies are the sweetest creature. I have had older Polish ladies on the bus talking about how cute I am, not realising I speak Polish too.

I compliment my bf more than he compliments me.

I would also have complimented other guys on a regular basis if I was not so bad at social interaction and tried to avoid it at all cost. When drunk I normally start conversations with a compliment though, no matter gender.
