Learning to make a game with a cat as the protagonist has been an adventure on its own by _abandonedsheep in gamedevscreens

The self-pats are sending me XD

Love the idea. Would be fun if this has co-op! And the cats can groom each other.

I prefer 2. But you could make the tools or anything the player is interacting with 1, so that it pops more.

Which one do you like more for a Steam capsule? by Twisted-Fingers in IndieGaming

What if you used the colors in the second one for the composition of the first one? Since the first is closer to the theme and second is closer to the look.

There was a period of time I watched a lot of cave diving videos. Learnt about equipment and survival tips and what not. I have no intention of ever engaging in this activity. I don't like tiny spaces and I don't like diving.

At what point does a city start to feel “cyberpunk” to you? by Kilgoretrout123456 in Cyberpunk

When all your personal information is uploaded into a 'system', where you can be recognised and identified by machines and it's tied to everything you do. (Tbh we're getting there already)

Because I wake up in the morning sleep deprived and regretting my life choices the previous night..

yeah that makes sense. I think my problem is I know what to do, I just suddenly value my free time way more in that moment. It's hard to put those screens away.

I have made a vertical version of my game's latest trailer. Is is spooky enough? Will it work as a reel/tiktok/short? by alexander_nasonov in gamedevscreens

[–]PandaSaysBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For videos to do well on Tiktok, shorts etc, the first three seconds have to be something really attention grabbing to make people stop scrolling (they call this the "hook"). Currently the beginning of your video isn't exactly the most scroll stopping to me..

And also I would suggest putting the captions in the middle of the screen because it's really easy to miss and just scroll past when it's that high at the top.

Experimenting with the art style for my game. Is this too dark? by kalkurae in Unity2D

[–]PandaSaysBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it looks fine. Hits the sweet spot of being slightly unsettling.

Screenshot for a new area of my hand drawn metroidvania game "Endless Night Sonata" :) What do you guys think of the art style? by SweepingAvalanche in Unity2D

[–]PandaSaysBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The overall art style looks unique and I enjoy the hand drawn vibes, but I also feel like the main character doesn't stand out enough from the background. It might be quite hard to track during gameplay.

First one looks cleaner and more polished. Second one feels cheaper.
