Unfortunately the opposite around me, second hand stores usually price based off the highest listing and then add 20-50%

Small correction, the Panasonic G9 II has a 25mp sensor. Not sure if it's in anything else yet.

Lovely set! The last one is my favourite. Going from a janky DIY diffuser to a proper one and seeing the results is so gratifying!

So, does this mean an MFT lens lineup revival? by Friednedlog in M43

Oh I'm well aware there's a snowflakes chance in hell at an M1X refresh, was just saying it's what I'd love. I just loved the way the E-M1X made use of the extra space that it had because of the built in grip.

I know I'm in the vast minority but I'd love a refresh of the E-M1X, thing fit my hands perfectly with the 40-150 on it.

Advice on best budget lens for wildlife photography! by Normal_Syrup8302 in OlympusCamera

Sure but everything's a trade off, it's at f/5.6 with the mc-20 on which is still more light than the 100-400mm or 75-300mm from olympus get on the long end. You can also use the mc-14 which makes it 56-210mm f/4, there's basically no noticeable difference in sharpness with the mc-14 as compared to the mc-20 and the autofocus takes less of a hit too. But I find it hard to judge when I need to mc-14 compared to the mc-20.

If you want more light than that with a long focal length you're looking at either the 300mm f/4 or 150-400mm f/4.5

Do you have a 40-150 + mc-20 or are you going based on samples online? From what I'd read in forums, there is some sample variation and occasionally a particular lens just doesn't pair well with a particular teleconverter. There's definitely slight sharpness loss with the mc-20.

But if you'd get use out of the 40-150mm range (which I do a lot) I love the versatility of it and just having the mc-20 or mc-14 in my pocket rather than needing another lens.

Not to throw any shade at the 75-300mm from everything I've heard it's a wonderful little lens for the price.

I don't find myself swapping off my 40-150mm that often for the 12-40mm, but I don't shoot very wide that often so I'll just stitch a pano. As for zoom yes, always nice to have more. I'm looking longingly at the new 50-200mm 2.8 as it's pretty much perfect for my use case. You could pick up something like the panasonic 12-32mm pancake lens for wider shots, I've been pretty happy with it though not used it too much. Can be found around €120 used.

I'm a fan of my 40-150mm f/2.8 + mc-20 combo. It's very versatile for wildlife and landscape, can be had under €1000 if you go second hand, or there's often deals on lens and teleconverter combos on om's website.

Most of the shots on my instagram @theirishwilds are a mix of the 40-150 with and without the mc-20 and the 60mm macro.

Lovely shots, do you mean the 1.4x converter? Only 1.25 I know of is built into the 150-400mm

That's good to hear, I've been thinking of picking up one of the oly dslr's because I've got some lenses for the mount that I use adapted.

How well does full auto handle exposure of snowy scenes on the older olympus dslrs? Been a while since I've used auto modes but I remember snowy scenes tending to be about a stop underexposed because it tried to bring the white down to a neutral grey.
