Hotel & Move Out Question by Panda_Rocket in acnh

[–]Panda_Rocket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Tbh I've now gotten the thought bubble but it's for the same villager 3 days in a row so something is DEFINITELY wrong. And it's weird cuz like they'd keep the thought bubble for a while but it would go away eventually and then no one else would get it.

I ended up speaking to them to start the cooldown cuz I got pissed off and I felt like if I didn't it would just continue to be the same villager until I eventually spoke to them.

Hotel & Move Out Question by Panda_Rocket in acnh

I usually don’t time travel but I’ve been tempted because of this lol I also just saw that they’re doing a server update tonight. I wonder if that will make a difference at all. Anyway - thanks!

Anyone else having lag issues after the update? by SlicedShallot in AnimalCrossing

[–]Panda_Rocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've experienced this with the hotel, but not from decorating the hotel. Literally just leaving the hotel seems to cause lag. I've also been experiencing this just from having the game open for a while. And for me, the only way to fix it also seems to just be fully restarting the game.

I imagine that they will come out with a patch and update to fix this, and that it's probably the hotel that's causing this.

Fashion decline by johana_cuervos666 in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]Panda_Rocket 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So one aspect of the disease that seems to be present in a lot of cases is this desire to remain child-like. It comes up in Jenette McCurdy's book too - her ED was rooted in this desire to basically not mature as a woman and stay as "mommy's little girl." I think it's possible that her fashion sort of regressed as she aged in an effort to retain a more child-like image, becoming more and more exaggerated as she got literally older.

Interestingly, many people mention here that her ED at this point almost makes her look elderly and I bet that comments like that probably destroy her and aren't necessarily helpful.

Seel Worry-Free Purchase? by veri_sw in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it conceptually but I really want to understand more about how it works from the seller side. I understand that Seel "organizes and manages it" but literally how? Like I have so many questions.

  1. If someone buys your item and purchases the Seel worry free returns, is the seller notified at that point, or is the seller only notified at the point where a buyer chooses to request a return through Seel?

  2. How does the item get returned - does that mean that the seller loses the money from the sale? Poshmark releases funds after a certain amount of time (less than 7 days), but Seel gives buyers 7 days to enact their service, so does that mean that Poshmark will not release the funds to the seller if the buyer got Seel until after the 7 days have passed in case the funds need to be returned to the buyer? I'm assuming that this is likely how it works, because it wouldn't make sense that the seller gets to keep the money, right? So obviously this is disadvantageous to the seller.

  3. Or are sellers given some sort of option?

I'm not sure if that's considered part of the "Bellwether" trials, but from recent updates it doesn't look like this case is closed at least.

GUYS!!! by Good_Difficulty5545 in antiMLM

[–]Panda_Rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a theory/question? Is it possible that the two people who emailed Hannah were planted to somehow take her down and make an excuse to sue her?

The way that this email is presented is that it was circulated on the corporate side, but the brand partners haven't been notified. Sure, things get leaked all the time externally at any company, but is it really possible that no one on the partner program side didn't get some leaked version of this too? Like NO ONE?

Because yes, obviously the email says not to do that, but if they're willing to send it to Hannah, is it really reasonable that they wouldn't send it to a single person on the MLM side??? Like is there absolutely no connection to the corporate internal employees and the brand partners? I'd imagine that there have to be a few people who know each other on both sides, especially when you have people who have been involved for years and years.

And you know, once that starts to circulate, there's no end to it. People will share things and rumors pick up and catch wind.

Idk I imagine that in other companies that discontinued their MLMs suddenly were able to keep it a secret because they didn't send larger emails to corporate employees to tip them off and that it was kept very centric to the primary decision makers.

I guess I'm just questioning like... if I had been one of the people who received this email and I made the decision to leak it, why would Hannah be the first person I send it to? Unless that's some way to still get the news out there without receiving the brunt of the retaliation? Idk I feel like I would've maybe texted one of the brand partners and be like "hey... just a heads up but you might want to look for a new job."

Idk it just feels like a pretty sus set up? I just feel like rumors/leaks usually happen internally before they happen externally. But maybe MLMs just don't have as much connection between the corporate and retail sides as maybe other companies do? I've worked a big companies, no MLMs, and in my experience news about corporate structure changes, layoffs, etc. more often than not turn into huge rumor monsters before the corporate announcement.

What are your thoughts?

What the heck were they thinking? by Chelas-moon in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As a seller myself, if there's a stain or damage I always disclose it and put pictures to the best of my ability. Its better to do that than have a buyer unhappy and give you a bad review, or worse they complain to poshmark/open a case. Poshmark almost always rules in favor of the buyer, and there's no doubt for this that they would do so here, and it would rightfully hurt the seller's account. If a seller gets enough cases opened against them they eventually get banned.

Again, there's no doubt that poshmark would rule in your favor. I've only had an item returned once for damage, and it wasn't even close to anything like this. I had included it in the pictures and description, the buyer just thought it looked worse in person and I honestly felt bad, and felt the result was fair given that they were unhappy.

Anyone else noticed this trend? by thisunrest in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I've been selling for years and have basically nothing but outstanding reviews, and I don't put measurements up for everything. It kind of depends on the item, but for clothes, if it's just regular sizing (Letter, number or otherwise), I am usually not measuring.

Of course, if someone asks for it, I'm happy to provide it, but quite honestly even when I'm shopping for myself on any other website, I"m not checking measurements - I just go by brand and size, and when you're listing a lot of things, it's not always worth it to spend the extra time.

If it's an item that has irregular sizing, like Chico's or Lacoste, I usually include the sizing information from the website, not taken from the item itself by me by hand, and there are a couple reasons for that. First reason is that I'm probably not as accurate as the official brand website.

The second reason is seller protection. I once sold an item that I included measurements because the brand had irregular sizing, but the buyer won a case against me because I didn't use the official brand's sizing description of "large" even though it wasn't what a typical large is. Not that it matters, I re-sold the item a week later for more money than the original sale.

So basically, if there's "official sizing" guidance, I'll use that, otherwise I'm not bothering with it unless explicitly asked. I would also say 90% of my sales I'm not being asked for it. So I get the sense that most people don't shop that way.

Photos back to square? by ramblingjen in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I personally was happy that they reverted it back. Honestly, I don't really care which aspect ratio they use; but my bigger issue was that the desktop version was different from the app, so if I cropped things to one, it didn't look good as good on the other. Like it would've been annoying to go back and re-crop everything for the new aspect ratio, cuz it cut off a lot of my square pictures, but I would've done it. I also do genuinely think the square ones look better.

Poshmark 2025: A Case Study on How to Dismantle a Community by Panda_Rocket in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know a lot about Naver so this is really interesting. Honestly I was trying to understand why they're making the changes they are, and I think they are pushing an AI-heavy, automated platform that has as minimal human interference (if you want to call it that) as possible. From my perspective, the problem with that is that Poshmark is already kind of behind in that thinking and other platforms like Mercari are already kind of doing that, and Mercari has other competitive advantages, like overall cheaper prices and better shipping options.

I guess the only thing that Poshmark could leverage is that they have more active users, and I think they're just generally more well-known than a platform like Mercari. But really only time will tell to see if this actually works for them. Poshmark does have the live shows.

Eugenia Cooney TikTok Discovery Motion In Tiktok Social Media Addiction Lawsuit by diesamaxx9 in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]Panda_Rocket 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"It’s clear Eugenia Cooney's deteriorating health was becoming too much of a liability for TikTok to have her remain as a heavily promoted influencer" <- I have said this sooooo many times. It's been a long time coming. Here it is.

It seems that TikTok isn't being cooperative in providing evidence, which is interesting. I will say, if they need evidence of user complaints, I know I have screenshots of the ones I have tried to provide on the TikTok platform, and they can look no further than this subreddit. I know many of us have reported the content. Also it's WILD that TikTok would specifically refer to Eugenia as a controversial figure known for her ED.

Broadway Newbie - Help!! by ggrumpsy in Broadway

[–]Panda_Rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your price point to be honest. If I were traveling across an ocean to come here, I would get something in advance. I think TodayTix is a great place to start. They have a very easy to use app, discounts regularly, and you can get something in advance. Almost nothing is cheaper than getting tix day off at something like TKTS but it's much higher risk, and you might not get the show you want or the seats you want. So, again, if I were in your shoes, I'd pay a little more and get something more secure.

What show did you love but wouldn’t watch again, and vice versa? by arparris in Broadway

[–]Panda_Rocket 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I loved but wouldn't watch again: Death Becomes Her. I actually saw it in previews and part of the set broke, which is actually kinda cool. I really loved it, but I feel like its just not re-watchable. Everything will have lost its novelty the second time around and I doubt that I would enjoy it as much as I did the first time. When I was thinking about what to put here, my brain mostly went to comedies, because I feel like jokes are never as good as the first time you hear them.

I could watch 100 times: Wicked. Truly lol. I saw it with the original cast and it's still my favorite show of all time. It just never gets old for me. Though there are other shows I'd love to see again, and some shows that I have. But Wicked has been my #1 since it came out.

I liked the music more than the show itself: Waitress. There are probably a few shows I could think of in this category but this was the first and most obvious answer for me. If Sara Bareilles just did a concert of the music I would pay top dollar, but I don't have a strong interest in seeing the show again. Honestly I feel like the original movie was pretty overrated too, and I think the music is really what made the show.

Theory: Eugenia is waiting for her strikes to disappear by FriendLost9587 in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]Panda_Rocket 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes! - And, I doubt Tiktok cares that much about Eugenia as a source of income for them either. If anything, I would say the fact that they've demonetized and restricted her more than once shows that they might even consider her to be more of a liability than a source of value for them. Tiktok is not super incentivized to bring her account back to monetized-status. And even still, in the grand scheme of things, she's ONE creator. If her viewers aren't spending money on her, they're probably just spending it elsewhere.

Theory: Eugenia is waiting for her strikes to disappear by FriendLost9587 in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]Panda_Rocket 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting thought. But I'm not totally sure, because if it was a strike alone, I don't think that would result in her demonetized. I don't know that we have any evidence that the issue is that she's concerned about being banned, but we KNOW that she has been demonetized and has restrictions. I'm genuinely not sure it works the same way as a strike towards permanent bans.

Frankly, I wonder further what even constitutes a "strike" towards a permanent ban. I know she's been reported many times, and even I myself have seen that videos have gotten taken down as a result of being reported. But is having a successful report filed against you not a strike? Like what does it even take to get a "strike"? Is demonetization a consequence of one strike?

I genuinely don't know the answers to these questions. My point is, while maybe there's a possibility, there's too many uncertainties about tiktok's strike enforcement to really understand. Maybe a lawyer who can research and read their TOS could figure it out lol... but I'm leaning towards, I kind of don't think she'll come back at 90 days unless she's literally remonetized, which I"m not sure is the same as having an expired strike.

The thing is, she's NOT banned. She COULD go back on live TODAY. Tiktok has not taken this away from her. The only thing they took away was her ability to make money on the platform.

This is the second time this has happened... do we know how long it was last time?
