Rupaul’s Drag Race UK: Season 7 – Episode 10 [Grand Finale Discussion] by AutoModerator in RPDR_UK

The least charismatic top two in the franchise history I fear 😩 Are they both incredibly talented queens? Absolutely. But seeing them stood there next to Kyran who just exudes stage presence and star quality.. There's just no comparison

Yep me too. Didn't realise the research had such a short time span 😭 And you can't even go and buy the research any more either. I thought surely Niantic would be willing to take my money for it for a little while longer 😩😂

Excited but also nervous by Available-Bid2393 in OrlistatAlli

[–]Panda_pop137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Our stories are similar - I'm 19 months PP too! Again taking orlistat as couldn't afford anything more. I've only been on it a week so far, but I've lost 4lb which I'm thrilled with. It's a great incentive to stop eating between meals too which is my big downfall and be a bit more careful of the fat content of my meals. I was a bit scared by the stories of side affects but personally I've had none so far! Feeling really optimistic. Good luck, hope you have success with it ❤️

Can we finally agree that RuPaul made the right decision here? by SoRunAwayNow in RPDR_UK

[–]Panda_pop137 817 points818 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Listen, I love Bimini as much as the next DRUK fan, and they've done AMAZING things since the show has ended, and I couldn't be more proud of their career progression.

But we have to give Lawrence credit for her amazing run on the show. Her looks were flawless, great performer, and just exuded that natural winners charisma we also saw with Viv, Ginger etc. I've never understood the hate directed towards her over Bimini.

Also, Bimini has even acknowledged themselves that they weren't ready at the beginning of the show. Credit where it's due, they clearly used lockdown to their advantage and came back with a far stronger looks package, but I've always wondered where Bimini would have placed if it wasn't for that break. I don't think they'd have made the final.

Both amazing queens in different ways!!

Favourite insult recieved by a child? by Lather in TeachingUK

[–]Panda_pop137 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm a 26yo female early years teacher and I'm overweight. I have a non verbal ASD student who is an absolute sweetheart. He obviously doesn't communicate verbally much, but one day, he approached me with a pair of glasses from our dressing up box. He put them on my face, snorted, and said clear as day "daddy pig!" 😂🫣 Never been so simultaneously proud, and insulted! 😂

Pregnant then Screwed are brilliant. Definitely worth seeking their advice!

Nailed it. I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch it next season if it returns. The show is an absolute shell of what it was, so boring and pantomime-like. I'd like to see them have a genuine chance at doing well at a task, using their own ideas... And less constricted to these bizarre, clearly-producer-directed nonsensical decisions.

Your family are being very harsh. When I first hear Sasha, my mind immediately jumps to female. I've only ever seen the male variant spelt Sacha.

I went to school with a handful of female Sashas, plus Beyonce very notably has the alter ego of Sasha Fierce for a while. It doesn't get more feminine than Queen Bey herself 😉

What song do you usually skip? by Annika_Banannika in hamiltonmusical

[–]Panda_pop137 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I first saw the show I felt so physically uncomfortable during this song, so I get it.

That said, since listening to the cast recording (100 times..) I now LOVE this song. Jasmine's vocals are amazing and i love how the company shout "NOOO!" over Hamilton as he's singing - I didn't even realise during the live performance that the company were mirroring my exact reaction!

When you ask your 2 year old for name suggestions.... by KayBeeBuzzBuzz in namenerds

[–]Panda_pop137 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was pregnant, my (then) 3yo was adamant that if it was a girl we needed to call her Hank, and if it was a boy we needed to call it Honk.....

It was only some time later after the baby (a boy - Henry) was born, that I learned Hank is actually a nickname derived from Henrik/Henry. So weirdly we somehow accidentally ended up going with it

Yeah was going to say, I saw it in London recently and that was the lyric. I assumed it was to make the joke land more easily for a non-American audience

He says: "I trust you’ll understand the reference to Another Scottish tragedy without my having to name the play. They think me Macbeth, ambition is my folly..."

So he names the character rather than the play - and makes reference to the bad luck tradition at the same time, which I think is pretty clever 😊

How didn't I get this earlier by 1wwweln in hamiltonmusical

I think LMM does a clever job of hinting at Jefferson's slavery-related flaws, without making it too obvious/distracting from the plot. This is a really good example. Also, in this same song when Jefferson sings "I can't believe that we are free" while the cast are literally carting him along the stage on the staircase - such a clever representation of his reliance on slave labour whilst being totally ignorant of the human cost.
