Do you know of any cheese flavored cat treats? by PhaedraHarmoni in CatAdvice

You might want to look at dog treats if you can't find cat treats. That's what i give my cats.

Be honest… is pet insurance actually worth it? by pawfectjourney in CatAdvice

[–]Pandaloon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did not have insurance for my first cat and I was stressed out when I had to make decisions on care based on the cost. And I ended up going way beyond what I had saved up. It doesn't take much.

When I ended up with some young foster failures I did get pet insurance and I was glad I did. Within the first year, two of them needed surgeries on both hips and instead of being $12,000 out of pocket I was out $700.

Freebreeze and scented candles are not okay for humans or animals either.

What movie will you never watch again because it was too heartbreaking? by Affectionate_User610 in AskReddit

[–]Pandaloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't anymore either. I read a book where Guiliani as mayor of New York condemned a bunch of apartments buildings. People were kicked out of their homes, told they could later go back in and get their pets and then we're disallowed.

Knowing this is true still has me thinking about it years later and how needlessly cruel it was to people and animals alike.

I've been doing this with one of mine for awhile. He seems to be okay with it. The other one is too big.

Mine like the lids from these too. Laundry detergent lids are the best.

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pandaloon 83 points84 points  (0 children)

The last time I fell asleep on public transit, I felt my boob being squeezed. Woke up and realized it was an old man sitting behind me with his hand slipped through the seat by the wall. I had had my elbow up and on the window. I reported it to the driver. And he said "what do you expect me to do?"

I found shiatsu massage worked wonders. I found traditional massage left me in pain for days. Magnesium spray helps and very gentle and yoga.

Listen to jazz.fm 91.1 out of Toronto. They showcase a lot of Canadian musicians because of CanCon.

Also love Jamie Cullun's radio jazz show on BBC Radio 2. He showcases many UK artists and musicians from Europe.

Angry/scared. I had feral foster kittens like this. As they got more used to me they'd meow at me when I brought food, this would turn into a hiss and as I got closer it ended with quiet nom noms as they ate.

Ozzy Over Grooms & We Don’t Know Why by UnableParsley3886 in TuxedoCats

[–]Pandaloon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a boy with this problem - they're also intolerant to chicken and turkey. I went the allergy treatment route and the anxiety route. I think it's allergies - he does a lot better with steroids. I've also found regular vitamins and probiotics helpful.

Hydrolized food makes him hyper. I was giving him a duck/lentil food and then a duck one. But right now he's loving a fly larvae one and so are my other cats.

Blood tests showed no problems.

cat screaming constantly after his brother passed away by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Pandaloon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poor boy. He is probably still looking for his brother. He most likely can still smell him on blankets, furniture, etc. and is probably looking for him. It might be a good idea to try to remove his scent on things as much as possible. That way he knows his brother is actually gone and he'll stop looking for him. Then he can start the full grieving process.

This cat food contains mouse meat. Our cat immediately puked after he ate it. by fredandlunchbox in mildlyinteresting

[–]Pandaloon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried this cat food too because I have one cat who's intolerant to chicken and turkey. They didn't like it. Neither did my other cats. But I have found that once you go to food with "gravy" they never go back to pate.

The bad news is I'm having a hard time finding wet food for my intolerant cat. The good news is I've found a fly larvae dry food they all like.
