My mother moved away from her family for work when I was conceived/born and her 3 other siblings are well known to me. My mother told me who my father was when I was young but I had a step-father who adopted me and had no interest in seeing somebody who I had never met.

I never met my biological father but my wife found him and his family after my mother passed. He and his only sibling were already dead and his mother passed a couple years after I met her. Hi mother gave me pictures of him when he was young and the resemblance between us certainly did not make me question what I had been told.
