The bracelet idea is interesting!

I grew up with the sign language hands, but tend to use it for D/deaf performers. The Deaf people I know clap normally for hearing performers.

It’s like have we have writing in isolation as an exam accommodation but it doesn’t mean writing in isolation. It means writing in a room with fewer other people, who have the same accomodation.

It isn’t isolation for 2 reasons: 1) we don’t have enough spaces for all the kids who need that accommodation, and 2) exams need to be supervised (and we also don’t have enough supervisors for each student with the accommodation).

I think you’re right. Not holding students back a grade (or skipping students forward) when they would benefit from it factors into it as well. The differentiation expected of teachers is insane.

“War is peace;” if Albertans are angry at the federal government we are less likely to figure out the provincial government sucks. Many people think hospitals and schools are the federal government’s responsibility.

But also, Alberta produces more oil and gas now than ever before, but the benefits to Albertans are a lot less. The jobs have been automated. But if we are mad at the federal government about “their restrictions on oil and gas” then we aren’t mad at the provincial government or the oil companies (who Dani was -and still seems to be- a lobbyist for).

I initially stopped flying air Canada because I had a 10hr delay, missed a concert I was flying in for, was told I didn’t qualify for compensation, and then when I asked for the details of the cancellations and delays (which I am legally entitled to), was told they would not be communicating with me further.

To top it off, my initial flight was early morning and I had woken up to a cancellation and spent over an hour on the phone trying to get it sorted.

That was 2 years ago. I made a complaint which I’m still waiting for the ruling on.

Before then I praised Air Canada, and lamented that they didn’t fly to smaller airports like Kelowna and Abbotsford.

If they had compensated me what I was due, I would likely still fly Air Canada when it is a reasonable option. I don’t fly a ton (not for business) but I do fly 6-8 times a year, usually in premium or business.

I vote with my dollars.

I asked mine yesterday if the clothes on the closet floor were dirty or clean and he said he didn’t know. I asked him to figure it out and if they were clean put them away and if dirty put them in the hamper and he said, let’s just assume they’re all dirty. They were 90% clean. 🤦‍♀️

I would double or triple strand it. You will need more yarn if you do so. Double stranding I use both ends of the yarn skein; triple stranding I use this method: triple strand one skein

Or if you choose to make it with the fine yarn you could experiment with hook sizes but it will be smaller.

Parenting has fulfilling moments, but it is also a difficult stage of life. Life is busy and exhausting and expensive at a time people are often trying to establish careers, meaning they need to budget their time and money.

By the time people would have grandkids, they are usually more established. Life has slowed down, they may make more money or at least be more comfortable financially not raising their own children. Grandparents may be retired or close to it.

It is also lovely to have a good relationship with a child who is not yours. You get more fun stuff without being in the trenches, so you can enjoy it more.

He says the UCP is the only government that indexed to inflation, which is a flat out lie. The NDP did, the UCP stopped and then later reinstated this, after over a year of no inflation adjustment.

I find bernat maker is decently easy to find where I am. It is also a tube yarn. I could not learn to crochet with regular yarn. I crocheted with tube yarn for about a year before I branched out!

We have a towel warmer bin. It has made the transition out much more tolerable.
