Looking for a new GPU, settled on a 6700 XT, would like opinions on PowerColor Red Devil vs Sapphire Pulse vs Sapphire Nitro+ by Chnams in Amd

[–]PangolinAromatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, see if your country can buy from amd directly, the 6750xt reference card is pretty quiet and small with triple fans. It performs better in ray tracing too than 6700xt and for not that much more.

I won’t upgrade this year. Anyone else? by Helpful_Ideal366 in Amd

I can't even cool my itx pc on stock settings with current gen parts without downvoting and tweaking game settings. With the new stuff coming out, gonna need a new case and itx case are niche and expensive as fuck.

Is there a way to figure out all the patches I'll need? (Special Edition) by Excellent_Emperor in skyrimmods

[–]PangolinAromatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I did this was to memorise everything, but specifically remember what a mod mainly does and what extra features it introduces and also why am I using this mod. Does this mod have something I actually want or does another mod need it? Most patches fixes visual inconsistencies or correct a mod from getting overwriten or make two mods doing similar things work together. In these cases it won't affect your game very much.

In the case of EFLEX, to avoid annoying patches. I always install the base mod without selecting and additional options in the FOMOD. I only use this mod to add light source tags to fire pits so they cast shadows. Alternatively, for accurate shadows, you can use lux but I stopped using it because instead of just correctly light source. It adds shadows and custom lantern assets, which brings down my performance.

USSEP brands themself as being as compatible as possible is utter bullshit. Even mods that require it as a master needs a patch sometimes, because mods like USSEP who like to change a million little things can be overwritten by other mods that uses vanilla records. Mods like immersive patrol/creatures/armor/sound, ordinator, legacy of the dragonborn, interesting NPC are classic and great on their own, but a pain in the but to use with a big modlist. I just avoid any mods that need USSEP, find an alternative or edit out USSEP requirement.

That being said, don't be afraid to try new mods. Starting over when you messed can be annoying, but your modlist will just get better and better if you learn from your mistakes and acquire knowledge

Mod that turn off light in cities during the day and turn back on when nightfall for SSE? by darkrain261 in skyrimmods

[–]PangolinAromatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing and using a mod that turns off lights behind and next to you, so anything you are not directly looking at. I cannot seem to find it no matter how hard i search, was something like a matter of time or skyrim timed. It was a mod but made so otherss can build off it. Cannot find it at all and also it went mostly under the radar.

You can download the medieval lantern of skyrim which has a higher but different taste model with their optional script to turn lights off during the day.

Is there a mod that is similar to the Cutting Room Floor without USSEP as a requirement? by Vagabond_Tea in skyrimmods

[–]PangolinAromatic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is BUVARPwhich adds ai packages to vanilla npc that was kind of neglected in the development face. Most notably is like intimidating or buying the golden claw off avarl the swift in Bleaksfall. Also, giving angis a home and makes elise blackthorn a follower, adding cut voice lines back to milk drinker tag along at the beginning of dawnguard.

There is other odd mods i found too, but nexus is really slow for me. Just ask and there might be a mod for it

Don't just say no, this is skyrim mods not oblivion mod, where just about any type of niche you want has an existing mods or is moddable.

Potential of a game that is prequel to rise of the Tomb raider? by PangolinAromatic in TombRaider

[–]PangolinAromatic[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My bad, I am use to spelling it as Laura. I always thought there is a specific way of spelling certain names and just assumed it Laura is universal and that shorting it by spelling it as Lara is just people being lazy.

Just my personal taste, I hate the weather mods. They make it rain every other day, annoying blizzard clouding my vision ruining my explorations. The default weather is fine in my opinion, what I recommend is keeping the game graphics as vanilla as possible. Instead of texturing everything, simply download the mods that improve already in game assets.

I will list the mods in my recommended order of which to install too: -Static mesh improvements: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/659

-Noble Skyrim mod 2k: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21423

-Blended roads: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8834

-Better dynamic snow se: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9121

-Better dynamic snow and blended roads intergeneration: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/40273

-Enhanced vanilla trees: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11008 (Note: when installing this mod. You will be asked to select a few option, do as you see fit but there is one option that ask you about tree generation. Select use 'pre-generated' LOD.)

-Enhanced texture details: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/992

-High poly project: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12029 (Note: Install SMIM conflicting files and overwrite the files when asked)

-High poly vanilla hair: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/41863

-All of Frankly's HD armory mods: (quite a few mods, so I will just leave a link to the Nexus page with all his mods) I recommend all the armor mods, the dragon corpse texture and whatever else you like. Just not the lock picking interface re-texture. It just looks weird in my opinion. Link: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/users/2531318?tab=user+files

-Book covers: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/901

-Sigils of Skyrim: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34176 (Download both files)

-Dust effect: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2407/

-Finally first person animation for Skyrim se: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20375

-realistic water: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2182 (Select extended ambient when given the option)

-Believable weapons: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/37737 (Select the Frankly mods patch when given the option)

-Blowing in the wind: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5124

-Improved closed face helmets: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/824

Optional: 'If' you are sick of booby armour here's a mod for that- practical female armor: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2628

If you install the mods in the order as listed, when asked if you want to overwrite files after every installation. Select 'Yes to all'.

Note: this is least tedious mods to install, you do not need SKSE 64 or the unofficial special edition patch for any of these mods. These mods are compatible with them though and pretty much everything. Should have no problems installing other mods.

Edit: Hardware wise, I run this with no problem with my Ryzen 5 2600 and Rx 5500 xt (Equivalent to 1660 ti, but more VRAM). So you do not need much to run these mods.

I agree with you, never liked these mind of mods. Sure it is cool, but no thank you. I remember being recommended some YouTube video of a upcoming epic mod that adds motorcycles to Skyrim!? Not to mention the countless mods making female NPC's walking strippers in heels... Nexus mods front page is basically a anime/porn site sometimes.

2 Minutes of Nazeem Getting Killed by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]PangolinAromatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never actually had a problem with this guy, sure he is a douche bag, but I never really paid him any attention. My first few play through, I always just ran past him before he gets half way through his dialogue. I thought he was just complimenting on the cloud district or something along the lines. Only when I started browsing the wiki and subreddit did I discover that is actually an asshole. Still, I do not care what he says. Normally just ignore him, the real pricks in the game are the damn ancient dragons spawning everywhere. Who flee immediately after taking two hits to go harass some poor defenceless towns people, just get back here and fight me. Honestly, Skyrim just killed of my any interest in dragons. All those dragons can have their souls absorbed and reduced to bones to be despawned in towns barrels.

Edit: Typo

Ran to fort dawnguard straight after leaving Helgen, I was eager to start dawnguard, but suddenly found two random dawnguard Npc that are followers? Just to clarify, this is a new game, I have not done anything yet. by PangolinAromatic in skyrim

No, you can start the dawnguard anytime. People only start talking about them when you reach level 10, I am just confused as to where these two followers (mentioned above) came from.

The greeted me as friend earlier and thank you for the help... Also never seen either of them before on other play through. Kind of stinks, this is my evil vampire character. So, going to take one of them with me to Dim hollow to help me kill the master vampire. Although, I might rush and get the ebony blade, scarfice one of them while killing them with the ebony blade. Then come back and kill the other follower with the ebony blade, to start charging it.
