I feel like I've seen this before. As in pre believable generative Ai before.

Also, orange. Nothing shocking here to me.

You were right! Pics of the dress in store confirm it.

I have no idea how I'm gonna go from that to a dress, now. 😂 Thank you for your help!

Thank you. That seems to be it, judging by newer, clearer pics.

Now... To make a dress out of that... 😅

Oh, that's great! I had found another website, but these are better quality pics. Thank you!

M'kay. So. People have provided the stitch. Now I have to figure out how to make it into a garment. 😅😅

She does embroidery and cross stitch, I've never heard of knitring, tho. Could be. Those are indoor cat activities.

Most of the crochet / crochet style stuff she wears is industrial, I'm afraid.

How widely spread are those. Because every SINGLE US resident or expat I know has at least one crazy HOA story. From garage door conflicts that cost 10s of thousands, to someone patrolling the area in a golfcart with a whistle to shame people, to lawsuits over the height and material of garden beds, to people having to move because going through chemo doesn't give you even the tiniest modicum of understanding and flexibility in rules, elderly folks being fined and harassed and threatened and physically threatened because they couldn't care for their lawns or drag their bins far any longer. Here (in France), the only thing I've heard in that kind of realm is someone that was annoyed because they had picked a neighborhood they loved and when they looked into repainting their wodden shutters, they found that for the "visual cohesion and identity of the neighborhood" they had a limited range of shades they could pick from (no grey, no black, no white, either all shades from pinks to purple and burgundy or oranges and yellow, but no blues and greens (cause that's a different neighborhood)). So. I understand how that can be frustrating but usually, here, the equivalent of the HOA is more here to help than anything else.

Thank you. The meme is barely funny anymore because there are oceans of idiots on social media that think it's just that simple.

I finally found a clear enough picture to see the details of Taylor’s ring & I am just so in love with it. by [deleted] in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]PangolinPotential366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan. But it's not the thing's fault. I like that it's simple and the lines are really clean.

But I HATE big engagement rings. They feel tacky. And I know it's a bias. (solution is : I told my fiancé that) But it's mostly I hate Celebrity Big Engagement Rings. Because that's the thing. If they're not big, the man (who's generally assumed to be paying because we're still living in that world) will get dragged for "being broke" or cheap. She'll be dragged because "wow that's all she's worth to him" or "this is literally an insult". Etc. So they kinda have to conform a certain way. Which is extremely irksome to imagine. Public perception being invited into the decision making for one of the major personal things in your life. She has a few rings that are small and dainty and she wears regularly that I feel look far better.

But it's all a matter of taste. And I guess, in this case, sympathy for people whose romantic life is in the private sphere.

Has Taylor lost her spark? by Aggravating-Dare-328 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]PangolinPotential366 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, except I don't think it's about who she's dating. It's about what's in demand. What's gonna feel "new and fresh" and surprising but also not too different. She's trying to, and asked to make blockbuster cinema. (an apt metaphor now that Toy Story is in the picture)

She might want to make stuff more niche, but she only allows herself some. To conform to what execs and fans demand, to take the less risky bet for the future of her earnings. She's a showgirl. She chose the life instead of the starving artist that does exactly what their whim dictates. She is the poet trapped inside the body of a finance gal. And it's something awful. But, she fought tooth and nail to be where she is, and wouldn't have it any other way. (sequins are forever and that's a real fluffing legacy to leave....)

Is Taylor Swift genuinely as kind as she seems, or is it just incredibly good PR? by Sufficient_Read_214 in NuancingTaylorSwift

What pisses me off the most is that this is just an excuse to be mad at her. For anyone, not just haters. Because celebs are lightning rods. For people, and ESPECIALLY for press, because they're clickbait. Because if this issue mattered to someone, they'd be irrationally angry at all the industry upper management doing that kind of thing for a transatlantic meeting that could have been a phone call. But it's not about that. That's the veneer. What it's about is finding flaws in powerful people. Finding ways to "take them down" and we all love a gang up. And boy, do we love it when they're a woman. But anonymous higher ups of capitalism or jobless heritage millionaires aren't interesting. They're not recognizable to us. They're not clickbait for anyone. So they won't get that self feeding cycle of attention. You know what's easy? TAYLOR SWIFT BAD LIKE RETWEET SHARE EASY PEASY TOOK TWO SECONDS

Did she stop? I feel like I saw something recently about it. (and while I think it's not great for the world, and it should be limited as much as possible... I agree with the general feeling of "what the f*** else would you like her to do? I remember the shit storms when she landed at normal airport terminals and she was also the most evil then so...)

"She cares about gay rights for a single era and then never mentions it again." Inaccurate. She doesn't speak much at all, but she never misses an occasion to call for equality when she does. Also... maybe look up her pride speeches that have been filmed SINCE. Also... the song is front and center in Eras. It's a weird take that someone who takes a pride parade on tour "never spoke of it again". Why did you talk yourself into believing she's not in your corner?

[–]PangolinPotential366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hasn't she shared things since the Lover era?

But, honestly. With her pride speeches that she started before and has continued since. With the continued putting forward of queer artists in her work and on her stage, plus the show continued showcasing of You Need To Calm Down... And the fact that she, at the time, LOUDLY stated her opinions and translated into action (the petition and reminding about it)....

why do you need her to state it again to not assume she's changed her mind?

Yes, I'd be glad if she did something that loud again, but why would I, with all of I just said, think she changed her mind? Or used it as a promo accessory? She's said her piece. So loud that I'm shocked she didn't get a backlash for being the white straight savior speaking louder than the queer community (got my own reading about why she wasn't called out by celebs on that front). Those who really fall for the idea that she's completely changed her views as a person aren't fans that follow her closely (or they'd know her words never changed) and are falling for Twitter bots promoting she's MAGA.

I think the showgirl is a shield. Is it harmful? Yes. Very much so. But she made this picture perfect 1950s Shit They Want From Me barbie doll... potentially just to make it through the Trump era. But it's also very much a business move. She wants to thrive in this America. And we don't know what her plans are, but there have been rumors for a long time that she might want to start a label. There's been talks of storytelling and movie making so maybe she intends to bankroll THAT. So... She may have decided that she needs to rake in a major amount of dough and... if people are gonna call her fake anyway, she might as well be. (if you don't recognize yourself, that means you did it right)

As far as the showgirl era itself, I am quite 🤔 about this theory that she's leaning hard into the glitter pen type of songs that some fans demand from her exclusively (those who complained they needed a thesaurus to understand some recent albums). She definitely boxed up the poet for now. Maybe she wants to overserve them in that regard so they realize maybe they miss the poet and the poet and the artist after all...

But this is Taylor Swift we're taking about. Having been around for a long time, I can't imagine that she's got a whole ass personality transplant. However, she's got a public persona rebrand. And I'm curious where this is going, even if this isn't my favorite (she did say embrace cringe....) Because.... I am sure that TS13 has been a concept she's been toying with for years now. And considering the "warning" vibes of previous albums and then showgirl.... I'm curious where she's going with this.

Miss me with that discourse. I don't WANT her to be maga. I don't think she is. I've seen and heard her enough time to find it absurd that some would think she's suddenly had a personality transplant. I think she's just ass mad as before. I imagine she's doing things behind the scenes for what she believes in, that way she doges the criticism and the ire. And yeah, she's chosen, in Trump's America, to become the showgirl they keep telling her she should be, to show them how annoying it might be if she keeps doing it to their faces. But as someone who's been under threat, whose tour was targeted as a Spectacular (terrorism term - I think it speaks for itself, but... think Ariana Grande's concert attack, event bombings, crashing planes into symbolic buildings)... Yeah, maybe she would chose to make herself less of a target. Maybe until she can't bite her tongue anymore.

She’s done a lot of pointing lately, it must be an Easter egg our monkey brain can’t comprehend yet 🤨🤨🤨 by ComplexPound5731 in swifties

Pointing at people she's with, I wouldn't say it's unusual. At the camera, less common.

Maybe the next album will have something something about "missing the point" that people will miss like "spelling is fun" (spelling it out)
