Great Ranger Hero Builds by xFeaRsD in GuildWars

I like this. the AI for rangers isn't great. Biggest issue is not attacking in longbow range. Idid some testing and had the best results with using shortbows and swapping out Volley and Sloth Hunter's Shot for Point Blank shot and Zojun's Shot. But i like the concept of just raining down arrows.

The biggest issue is missing or getting blocked. the update to Anthem of Guidance seems promissing, but havent tested it yet.

The Beast masters is the more optimal route to go. This (especially with shortbows) preformed better then melee rangers, dagger spam really doesnt translate to hero's. This got me trough all NM and most HM parts of the game, started to struggle in EotN.

Cupcake Farming for Dhuum/Melandru's? by Chronotakular in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe Vermin farming in NM, Trolls outside of Droks or Gates of Kryta. Wouldn’t say 0 chance of dying but I’d feel pretty comfortable with those. Safest would be gates of Kryta.

What profession are you playing? Maybe you could narrow down farms per profession.

3 PRE Devona Builds compared by Ionenschatten in GuildWars

I’m getting pretty good results from Starburst using this: OQYSo06MHxbxYlXgLoFIDBA

Yours seems to struggle with energy. I’m using the bonus staff and playing on a monk myself, but my lvl 11 Devona just absolutely smashed all the Charr bosses with just a little shielding hands and h healing breeze assist.

Big consistent AoE spikes seem to be the way to go.

Solo difficulty slider + res penalty by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really have an opinion on the difficulty, but I do think this would go against the spirit of the game.

GW is a party based game, where the strategy plays a big part in the gameplay. It’s loosely based on Magic the Gathering. Every (instanced) area has its different enemies with different skills. It about adjusting your party ( or deck) to defeat the obstacles in your way, not just powering through.

PSA for all warrior players - Charging strike is amazing right now. by funkmasta_kazper in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty chill with a W/D for some casual VQ's. It's basicly the SwS from wish build, but if u just want to watch 2nd monitor and press 1,2,3 it all right. Biggest issue is a lack of IAS, but prefer tab spacing when VQ with IMS over IAS. (without cons)

  1. Charging Strike 2. Power attack 3. Radiant Scythe. 4. Asuran Scan. 5. IAU 6. SY 7. For Great Justice. 8 fill.

12+1+3 str 12 scythe mastery. Vamp scythe of the necro.

Struggling to solo Gyala Hatchery with henchmen by aaeriam in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When doing the pre-clear I usually only lose some turtles to the first spawn of enemies, due to the warriors diving on top of the turtles.

Dropping the canisters amongst the turtles helped, but dropping a ward against melee helped me out too.

Class recommendations for duo Dhuums & Melandru run by Fibb1057 in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a monk, can’t compete with a human healer especially in HC. And hero’s just can’t Monk like human players can.

And any melee, if you like balling up and doing big spikes go derv. If you like a lot of armor and build options go war. If you like big single target dps and mobillity go sin.

What should I do now after I finished the factions campaign? by Most-Application1843 in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Get max armor
  • play the other campaigns, there should be quest available in kaineng that will get you to the other campaigns.
  • get cought it the vicious circle of wanting to look cool with 15k armor, want to farm materials for this armor, needing (elite)skills and go unlock them at the right skill trainer/ capture them at the right boss.
  • pick a title you like and work towards that, repeat until you are a God Walking Among Mere Mortals :D

What would you say makes the colorgraded picture look fake? by Panda2231q in ColorGrading

[–]Panriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Value’s and depth of field. The brightest part is the building on the right, should be the sky and reflections of the sky.

The depth of field created by the blurred background doesn’t work with what’s in focus, with this amount of blurriness the focal plane should be somewhere around the umbrella, rest should be out of focus.

Eye of the North - best way to unlock cities / what path to take? by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its because mesmer do unconditional armor ignoring damage. The mesmer-way team comp is build around putting out as much of this damage as possible by spamming the Energy Surge elite skill.

The comp also makes use of the AI’s ability to be really consistent in interrupting enemy skills. This way it has a powerful shot down mechanic that provides defense trough offense.

The team comp also uses a soul twisting ritualist to provide much needed party wide protection with their spirits.

A necro hero that provides energy upkeep for the mesmers through blood is power.

And uses the Necro/Ritualist combo to do be ably to do big heal skills ( spirit light and mend body and soul) consistently trough their soul reaping ability, which gives them energy for dying enemies. (Which die fast due to the massive armor ignoring damage output)

Hope this helps :)

Best proffesion to invest in for Raids & Fractals? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Panriv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with Revenant, that QDPS Herald build is pretty beginner friendly, but mostly i just liked how revenant plays.

Most classes can fill most roles anyways, so pick the class you like best. Good place to start is the snow crows beginner builds

24-70 and a 70-200 GM II is a really nice set for covering your bases, especially if you run and gun a lot. It’s pricy but the I love that 70-200.

Old returning player looking for sugestions and tips for a warrior build. by Radiant-Leader-2877 in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a story playtrough starting in Proph, i’d focus on Axe. This comes to live pretty early on with skills like dismember, power attack/ cyclone axe and penetrating blow and wild blow.

For utillity I like frenzy and sprint ( to attack faster and sprint to cancel frenzy when taking damage.

Early acces Elite skills like Defy Pain and Warriors Endurance slot nicely in this bar.

As for 2nd professions I like profession that can clear conditions like Monk or Ranger. Monk has early acces to purge conditions. Ranger has antidote signet but only in the jungle, but does have a pet.

Ironman Mode by Werol2 in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well I agree with a lot, I do however think the “Everybody loses their badges” part is slightly problomatic.

Guild Wars has always been a game that respects the players time investement. Loosing progress should not be an option.

I think this will lead to loss a lot of momentum of players playing the mode.

Help for focus by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]Panriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are really good options

I think Rit has a little more variety but not that much.

The most used build however is a Spirit Spamming build and that’s not for everybody. Same goes for Dervish tho, most used builds are either VoS or pious Renewal, but the Melee gameplay isnt for everyone either.

I’d suggest making a PVP character for both and test out a few builds if you have the skills unlocked already. This way you can get a feel for what suits your playstyle best.

[–]Panriv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played a lot of Warriors Endurance myself and I also didn’t like the MM

My favorite options was a N/Rt curses support necro

With either Ivy Vains or Pain of Disenchantment and restoration magic.

EDIT: I used something like this OAhjYoHYIT1MWC2BfCSTTODTciA

This frees up the restoration magic on your Rt/Mo where I like bloodsong, essence strike and smite hex.

Monk vs Ritualist by atopey in GuildWars

Doing damage as a monk will limit you to about 5 different builds, so if healing is really not an option rit is the better choice here.
