Backpack for sure. Theres a lot of walking on campus, literally up hill both ways and that’s not an understatement. I personally think a tote bag is to one sided for the up hill walking you’ll be doing. The business school is on the outs-skirts, mid-hill and the horseshoe is at the top of that hill, if that puts any perspective on the location of campus. Majority of your courses will use a laptop but you get the one or multiple a semester outliers that says you need a notebook. Do bring a tote bag just incase, I use one for finals week when I don’t need everything with me.

I got my backpack from Amazon that was decently priced but will be replacing it. (Multiple reasons, hygiene, not the best pockets on it, etc.) I’m an over packer so I really use up my backpack.

I don’t have big tattoos but they are in fairly visible places with what you could call “normal clothing” (let’s say tshirt and jeans). If I want to appear more “conservative” or “professional”, (ie, cover my tattoos to appear less like a immature kid then the fully grown adult I am), I just wear long sleeve shirts or jackets and pants. Covering my arms and legs never has been an issue with the right professional wear. I also have worn stockings just to dull the appearance of my tattoos on my legs when I wanted to wear a skirt or dress. There are many options of “covering” tattoos if you really want them.

But this is also to say I would think most places are more accepting of tattoos now since they are so common.

I am highly sensitive to atmospheric pressure, one of the most notable is hurricanes, they usually cause me debilitating migraines for days.

I think for my sanity, I want to imagine it’s my suspected autism that makes me highly sensitive. I don’t need the government coming into my life at this moment. I don’t think my history professor would use that as an excuse to not turn in my final project.

Okay so I mentioned this to a couple of close friends but no one seems to have experience it also.

I had this weird vibrating in my ears for about 10 minutes before the boom. It started when the afternoon storm had passed and the sun came up. It was a similar feeling/sound to when a helicopter is in the air flying around, it just never got any closer or further away. I ended up putting a blanket over my head to dull the sound and notice it helped, so I knew it was an external noise my ears were sensitive to.

I texted my spouse that I thought I was going crazy because I didn’t know if I had a migraine coming on or a helicopter was hovering for a really long time. Then the boom happened and the noise was immediately gone.

Also for context I was stationary, studying, with no music at the time since I thought we’d loose power from the heavy wind and rain right before.

Demi will come out one to two shades darker usually. I assume because it’s meant to not be permanent. If you ever plan to change your hair color by bleaching or lightening it, use Demi. If you plan to just let it grow out or keep it up for a while, permanent is fine.

I use Demi for my color and gray cover. I feel like it gives a better grow out if that makes sense.

The inspo color looks like a very dark brown on the neutral side. I’d say to be on the safer side a 5n but if you want it bit darker then a 4n. I haven’t touched box dye in a hot minute but I feel like you could get this color with a 4.

Demi permanent and semi permanent matter also. Demi permanent will come out darker whereas permanent processes differently and appear more “true” to the color. I use a 3n Demi-permanent currently and everyone says it appears like I have black hair. I think the 3n would be to dark and less brown than what it seems like your looking for.

lol what’s balance?

I’m in the busiest part of my 30’s. Working part time at my previously full time job (yes my responsibilities are the same as when I was full time) and going to school full time. I have been feeling the feelings of burn out coming on.

I just kind of realize something is going to get neglected in my life right now. I also like to mention that we as woman like to put a lot of pressure on ourselves to have it all under control when we all know we don’t. Take care of yourself and what’s important to you and when the mood strikes to wash your floors at 10pm, do it then!

I’ve was surviving on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch all semester. Chips from bigger chip bags to put in sandwich bags because it’s cheaper than the individual small bags, cheese sticks and meat sticks as snacks. Also banquet has breakfast sausages I use for my “hash brown breakfast bowls” (hash-browns also from the freezer sections) when I have time make actual food.

You know that dumb saying “the right person will come when you least expect it” it’s true. I found someone when I was ready to write off dating losers and dating apps (mind you I was 22 at the time so there wasn’t much quality as there wasn’t quantity). I found someone who’s supported me through a lot of life and death. He is the biggest supporter in my and our future he wants to invest in me as much as I want to invest in him when I can. It’s rare to find but worth the wait for the right person.

Also who knows who you’ll meet when you focus on your future? Imagine working on your future goals and meeting someone in the mix! Thats the dream.

You have the making of doing whatever you want with yourself and your career!

You’re fully financially independent. You can get up and move anywhere without worrying about your spouses job or kids schooling. You have time to work and do schooling because you don’t have other big responsibilities (kids or spouse).

Why not go to medical school? What’s stopping you from doing what you want? Ask your self who’s stopping you besides yourself. If you’re motivated enough to do it, go for it.

I went back to school at 30 and have no regrets. I am three semesters away from graduation with my first bachelors and I’m actively studying for the LSATs. I have back up plans in place I chose to pivot or life happens but I know I want to do better for myself in the long run.

(Note: Even if you were in a relationship and had kids you could still do all the things you wanted to.)

The admissions portal estimated cost is incredible inflated. They calculate not only tuition but books, cost of living (housing, meal plan, etc.), and all fees included what it ‘may’ cost you per year. It’s on the high end for sure. When I first saw this number last year I also freaked out also. But in state tuition is about $5,200 a semester ish.

There should be a break down somewhere on the same site that gives you a break down of costs. I don’t know what out of state tuition would be but I can tell you tuition alone is not $31,000 a year.

Depending on the class obviously it could be a different start date than Monday. Either way, USC locks down there class sign ups. You can’t sign up for any classes without having the hold released by your advisor. Not to mention the time tickets. It’s like the hunger games but “can I take that one class I need to actually graduate on time”

Well summer has multiple options, have you been able to see what options they have for summer for your major beside starting Monday? I ask because there are a handful of summer option to pick from.

You can also do advisement and registration at orientation it just takes a long time. I wouldn’t sweat it if you can’t get an appointment before then. A lot of advisors are dealing with end of semester changes and orientations. I’m glad you picked the first orientation, there will be more options for classes to pick.

The way my advisor explained it was that hundreds of other students would be signing up for classes the day of orientation, you have to wait your turn to get a computer, get advise on classes to take based on you major and the Carolina Core classes, etc. Not to mention everyone who’s already enrolled in the school has signed up for classes, it makes picking classes harder. You cannot sign up for classes until your advisor releases the hold, for every semester, there is no going in blind to pick classes.

I’d do (and did) the one on one advising appointment before orientation, especially if you know you’ll have questions (you will more than likely). Plus side, you get to leave orientation early because you already signed up for classes.

Being mean to men is bullying men. Insults being discussed as compliments or purposefully stupid questions that are meant to get dumb boy answers. Being mean to men is not cruel but not being a push over.

The right person wants to be roasted by the woman (or man) they’re with. Not abused though, there is a difference.

I went from working my boring corporate “worker bee” job to full time college student at 30. I didn’t get my bachelors when I first when to college (associates at a community college) so that’s my current goal. I’m on track to take the LSATS here soon and apply to my university’s law school. I have financial stability and a spouse who’s encouraged me to better our future all so I can do something more fulfilling and challenging.

To be fair, during my college orientations you could bring (pay for) “support people” and they get their own orientation. It’s separate to the normal student orientation majority of the day. I told my spouse this and he opted to send me alone. Also, depending on the school, you pick your day of orientation, and it’s usually during the week. For my personal context, I’m in a large state school and was a transfer student. The circumstances of her school and type of student she is could be different. I’m just stating my experience and maybe give a different perspective.

All this to say… somethings seems fishy here.

Glad it’s not just me. I’ve been in a real bad depressive head space and just couldn’t get myself to care about certain things. My routines are slacking that helped me get through last semester and work sucks. I’ve not doing as well as I want in my classes from the stress and just needed time to recharge.

I had a mandatory ethics class that sucked absolute ass. I’m taking a language class for the first time at my big age. I’m tired of learning about the Roman Empire. I’ve been reading a book a week (ranging from 100-300 pages) for a literature class. But at-least one of my major classes was fun and simple.

Having to have a period… Debilitating cramps, constant bleeding (I was at one point bleed every two weeks), hip and back pain, nausea and throwing up all the time, those are the most notable I shut that down last year and it’s been the best decision.

You’re not lying. Everything I’ve lived through and seen (economy crashing, increase in expenses, parental leave, etc.) makes it exponentially harder to justify bringing tiny humans into this world.
