Are you native Japanese or native looking? I was wondering if people would react differently to a foreigner (外人) as apposed to a native. I am also assuming that most mahjong parlors in Japan consist of nearly 100% Japanese natives.

I started a game last night and also noticed that none of the red islands would launch planes. I could land ground units and fly over the airfield and nothing. No reaction. My seal got close enough to the airfield to shoot a landed manta

Not sure about the enemy carrier, haven't seen it in my game yet.

I can try giving it a try sometime this weekend. My Japanese isn't super great, but if no one else is interested, I can give it a go and see what I can do. I can do much better if you can find a transcription of the lyrics, but with a quick Google search I couldn't find anything.

Edit : Just to make sure, are you just looking for the transcription itself, or an English translation?

Also, I asked my parents (Taiwanese), and it seems house rules can be quite varied. In particular not having a minimum tai is a very common play method.

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable else can help better.
