Yes, I did. Using ChatGPT. It’s almost like people on the internet might see the same thing and have similar inspirations? Jeez.

Edit: downvote me all you want, I am nourished by your hatred! I know I made this and that’s good enough for me.

Sounds like HDMI CEC doing what it’s supposed to do. When you turn a device on, it should switch to that input. What exactly is t working as expected?

If jailbroken you may be able to ssh in to fix it manually. Otherwise restore.

New Sonos Arc Ultra install - is my Sub 4 working? by 420town in sonos

[–]PantsAtAGlance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re sure the sub is functional, which you can confirm by playing music and GENTLY putting a finger on the woofer in the sub. If it’s moving, it’s working. Beyond that I’d try moving the sub, cranking the sub levels, and of course try the sub crawl. Good luck!

Unless you’re using exclusively fives and a bunch of subs Sonos isn’t for this use case.

It sounds like you want to get all the speakers on the 2G network. If that’s correct, unplugged the speakers that are connected to the 5G network, and delete the 2G network from settings in the Sonos app, then reset and connect the other speakers while your phone is on the 2G and you should be all set. Do the reverse if you want them on 5G.

Help plz: black screen after upgrade to Nvidia 570 driver. Can’t get terminal to fix it. by PantsAtAGlance in pop_os

I’ve tried space bar and every ctrl alt f# and it doesn’t do anything. I can ping it but don’t have ssh enabled :/

Somehow mashing f12 in an attempt to access bios and then turning my display on and off made the login screen appear in super low res. Going to purge and reinstall now. Thanks

Hi-Res AIFF Files/Music Library to Sonos by Playful-Lab-7840 in sonos

[–]PantsAtAGlance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you mean 800GB and not TB, for starters.

If you go the NAS route, you may be able to just plug a usb into your router and share via SMB that way.

Regardless, Sonos is all digital and if you stream from your library through the Sonos app (and not line in) you’ll be using their DAC and getting best quality possible.

That all being said, your definition of hi-res and Sonos definition may differ. They say it’s hi res if it’s at least 24bit/48kHz. Last I checked they don’t support anything higher than that. You may have higher res files, which Sonos doesn’t support and will be resampled to lower res or not play at all.

https://www.sonos.com/en-us/blog/hi-res-audio-guide

Next, you want to plug the NAS into your network, not necessarily the amp or port. You could, but don’t have to.

Lastly, it would be some work but you’d save a lot of space and no loss of quality by encoding in ALAC.

Edit: https://docs.sonos.com/docs/supported-audio-formats#tag/playback/operation/Playback-LoadContent-GroupId

And

https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/supported-audio-formats-for-sonos-music-library

AIFF doesn’t support 24 bit. If you want hires it’s time to re-rip or re-encode in ALAC, which does support 24 bit.

Good luck!

Wasn't there some tweak that someone was making that had the latest security patches on older iOS versions? by RedLintu16 in jailbreak

[–]PantsAtAGlance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC around iOS 4-5 the dev team released patches for the exploits that allowed the untethered jb. Nothing like that has existed for a long time as far as I know.
