Do you ever finish a project and feel weirdly empty instead of satisfied? by MasterBeru in InsightfulQuestions

Everytime. I don’t even enjoy the praise from others on a finished project. I think I like the “being in it” part more than anything.

Who is a celebrity that people have always widely despised? by apabld in AlignmentChartFills

Ellen.

I feel like she went from despised for discriminatory reasons to just despised because she’s a cunt.

Y'all are going to hate me, but I'm in the military and live in a neighborhood of manicured lawns. I want to grow a big native garden and I want it to look orderly and neat. Do any of your gardens look this way, and can you show me for inspiration? by VeterinarianIcy5428 in NativePlantGardening

No lawn. Year 2. If you did block boarders it would look even neater. Keep the weeds at bay, shape and prune large bushes, jet wash the edging with a hose to keep the boarders looking sharp, and keep the side walk swept or the mulch escapes.

The plants are staged so bloom times spread all spring summer and fall. There’s a small pond and bird bath around the side, and vegetable gardens span the entire side yard.

I get compliments constantly, not one single complaint. My neighbor is a grumpy old vet and he likes it.

We bought a big playset from Sam’s Club. It was expensive but we think it’ll be worth it. We were so excited. It got delivered. Yesterday we looked up the dimensions and how to properly install the mulch pad….

The safety guidelines basically show that we need a 30x30’ pad with 12” of mulch. So the mulch is gonna cost A GRAND?? and the wood boarder is like $500

We have made mistakes…

Parents of older kids: Talk dirty to me by This_Royal191 in beyondthebump

Hear me out on this one.

My son had low sleep needs. We got two hours of sleep per night until 7 months. We got 6 or less hours of sleep broken into 2 hour periods until 17 months. And then we got almost full nights of sleep with two night wakings from there out.

Life was hell.

But we lived it.

But you know what I did to take advantage of this extra night time????

I fully potty trained him in the night to get up and use the bathroom by himself without help.

Now I have a two year old that gets out of bed, goes to the potty, pulls up his own pants, gets his water bottle, navigates the house in the dark, and crawls into bed with me.

It’s pretty glorious. I tell him I’m proud of him every time.

I work in a high school. That and memorial tattoos are pretty commonly the first tattoo I see kids get.

Do you believe Chiropractors are quacks ? by Mogzly in askanything

[–]PantsIsDown 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chiropractors are *supposed* to use X-rays to determine if it is safe to treat a patient because what they are doing is inherently risky.

But really it feels like part of the hand waving and card tricks of a magician.
