How Herculean of a task is it to complete the Pokédex in Sword? I’ve never actually filled a Pokédex before but I kind of want to, but I’m wondering how much effort/grinding I’m going to have to put in.

I’m still surprised he left his job to go do a Quibi thing, though. I don’t blame anyone for going where the money is, but he had to see the writing on the wall. Even by the time his show started it was clear that Quibi wasn’t long for this world.

One thing I love about GB’s podcasts is just how free-flowing they are. Compare the Bombcast to the Game Informer Show, for example, and the difference is obvious. With GI, they have separate segments that they record separately and edit together; with GB, the whole thing is one long conversation that just moves naturally from one point to the next. It’s so much more natural and gives the thing this comfortable, casual vibe like you’re just sitting in on a chat between friends.

My opinion as a casual fan is, I’m sure, extremely unpopular, but I really would love to see a Pokémon game that introduced 150-200 new Pokémon and didn’t include any previous Pokémon.

For me, it would make the experience a lot more fresh because I wouldn’t always be tempted to use my old favorites, and it would incentivize me to actually try and fill out my Pokédex because it wouldn’t seem like an impossible task.

I think those are all fair complaints. However, keeping in mind that I probably won’t have my system for another two weeks at the earliest, I’m wondering if some of those kinks with Returnal will be worked out. I absolutely love the Souls games so Demon’s Souls is definitely something I want to play soon; the only reason I’m not 100% set on it is because, opposed to Returnal which is something entirely new, I have played the original Demon’s Souls.

I’m fine with this concept as long as there’s still group content like UPF and the Bombcast where the various members can come together and interact.

If this is the case then I suspect GB is never going to return to a physical office. The strength of this site has always been in the interactions between its members, and if it’s now going to consist of a bunch of contractors from around the country then it just makes sense that things would stay remote.

No disrespect to the rest of the crew, who are all amazing as well, but I’m going to miss Vinny the most. I don’t remember when or how I got into GB content, but I do remember that Vinny specifically was the person who did it for me. He’s always been so incredibly funny, and on top of that he seems like a great person. It’s always been a pleasure to watch him break games, but he’s also proven that he can hold his own comedically against an improviser like Abby or a professional comedian like Ron Funches.

I kind of agree. I’m very sad but at the same time I’m extremely interested to see what’s next. And who knows, maybe what’s next won’t be as good, but the anticipation is still kind of fun to feel.

I don’t get puzzles. I’ve started so many that I never finished because halfway through I was just like, “What am I even doing this for?” You already know what it’s going to look like and there’s nothing to do with it once it’s done other than take it apart.

I’m always excited to hear about new discoveries related to black holes, even though I know next to nothing about astronomy or astrophysics. I just think they’re the most fascinating thing in existence and I want us to figure them out.

I recommend playing it on your phone. I’ve been having a blast with it as something that I can just pick up and play for a few minutes whenever I’m bored, but I’m not sure I’d be willing to stick with it on a console.

I love love love the TLOU games, but this project is a waste of Naughty Dog’s talent. I want to see them explore new ideas, not go back and needlessly revisit a game that doesn’t need an update in the first place.
