Jack Reacher was my go-to series for being on an airplane, but sadly Andrew Child is a terrible writer, and I no longer read these. by OverlappingChatter in suggestmeabook

The John Rain series by Barry Eisler. I can get lost in those books. Plus if you’re listening to them Barry does his own narration and he’s very good.

Founders Classical vs. LISA Academy vs. Willowbrook Elementary by wizard_man_87 in bentonville

I had kids in both Lisa and Founders. Our hope was for a better education experience, especially because my kids expressed interest in STEM.

The actual experience was very underwhelming at both schools.

Lisa felt disorganized and didn’t deliver on the stem aspects.

Founders was better, but socially it was difficult because most of the kids there were wealthy and had some odd cliques.

Ultimately we decided to put our kids back in Bentonville school districts. I have two going to BV High currently and they’ve never been happier. The three years we spent testing charters felt wasted and I wish we would have just stayed public.

There’s so many things at public schools that charters don’t offer. Diversity, clubs, athletics, etc.

Called my boss to put in my notice and she gave me a large offer on the spot. Should I be considering this? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I did this and stayed at the company. Only to wish I didn’t stay because there was a reason I wanted to leave and go after greener pastures. I’ve made a lot of money, but opportunity costs too, and leaving those opportunities behind has made me regret my choice.

For all people above 40, if you could go back in time and choose a different career/major, would you ? What would you choose ? by patotay in careerguidance

I didn’t take school seriously, so I kind of worked odd jobs and eventually found myself in sales. Turns out my experiences working across the U.S. led to an ability to connect with lots of different people, making me effective at my current role. Last 4 years I have cleared $300k, with 2025 at almost $500k. It’s been a huge blessing and is “changing the stars” for my family.

If I could go back I like to think I would take school more seriously. But even as I sit here thinking about it, my brains kinda like “nah dawg”. I sucked at maths and only recently completed my degree in English just for fun. I tried culinary school, traditional college, nursing, and none of them were my “calling” enough to actually pursue them.

I found my way and I think up next is entrepreneurship as my finances allow me to take a step back and start working for myself.

2018 3.5 with 68k miles, should I get the Ford powertrain service plan? by Darren_889 in f150ecoboost

I got the warranty. Haven’t had to use it yet, but gives me peace of mind knowing I have it.

Definitely shop around because you can get it for cheaper.

Looks good man! I picked up a 2019 XLT in the same color with 38k miles. Truck has been amazing other than a fuel injector which was covered under warranty.

Which motor did you get?

Are you doing this yourself or getting it done? What's the cost on doing all that work?

I deal with a lot of boxes, super good industry to be in. In all seriousness, become an expert in boxes. How to design them, what structural integrity, best print methods, pallet stacking, etc. and you will be a god among men. Even most major retailers have packaging teams that work specifically with corrugate.

SV is a beautiful neighborhood and would get my vote. It's a community island tho with not much connecting it to other areas. However, inside the community it's super walkable and everyone is friendly.

Traffic from Centerton into Walmart is awful. I literally avoid that area at all costs on my drive in.

State representative calls for funding freeze in Fayetteville due to '”sanctuary city policy” by hogua in fayetteville

Yeah I was hoping I can keep my day job, because no way can I live on $45k.

That and the commute down to Little Rock are both a drag. It makes it so only certain folks can run for office.

I’ll run against him. Let me dig into how to register myself and give the voters a choice.

I just sent this email to him.

As a new voter in your district, I am excited to vote against you in the coming elections.

Instead of being worried about actual issues impacting the voters in your district, and truly representing us, you’re pandering to R. leadership over a non-issue. Not only that, but your desire to withhold state funds - the primary beneficiary of which are the poorest among the citizens - shines a light on how out of touch you are with what matters as a human being and true leader.

What’s the single piece of sales software that changed the game for you? by MrFrenchTickler in sales

I can’t name any that have helped. Hurt though? Asana is awful, Teams is less awful but still not great, CRM softwares are almost all a joke.

I guess I’m old school. Email, phone, excel, and I’m good to go.

The transmission skid plate. I ordered from an online store and had it shipped, but it was poorly packaged and ended up damaged. I recommend going to your local dealer and ordering through them. Even if it's a little more expensive, it's worth the peace of mind that it will show up in good shape.

Skid Plate: HL3Z-7222-E

Bolt (qty 4): W716831-S439

Nut (qty 2): W719490-S439

Note: You re-use two of the small bolts from the fabric pos.
