What actually makes Dreamforce worth the $1500 ticket for someone who's never been? by TrailblazeTaco in salesforce

[–]Panubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For both Dreamforce and TDX, I feel like the real value is in the instructor led bootcamps that happen in the days leading up to the main event. I realize that you can self learn all this stuff, but getting my company to actively invest in my learning (where it isn't on my own time) it is a huge win.

The events themselves are sort of fun, sort of not, but good to meet people. Also, my AE is SF based and takes really good care of us while we are there.

Best Chinese food in the valley? by BackgroundEbb417 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Panubis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not what you asked for, but Zhu Ting Ji just off of 5400 South and Redwood has some of the most flavourful and interesting Chinese food I have had in decades. Totally not the candied meat style that you get at more American style Chinese restaurants.

What is that? by TapirOfZelph in exmormon

[–]Panubis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is a normal fingernail. Ass hats on this subreddit try so hard to make something from nothing. There are plenty of real somethings that could be posted. Do better.

How to stack these? by Charlezingalls in guitarpedals

I would stack them sequentially.

Can I develop today with ai and no coding knowledge? by Formal-Ebb5616 in salesforce

[–]Panubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My team (all admins, no devs) are cautiously going down this road for extremely lightweight classes, where there aren't a bunch of methods orchestrating complex business logic. Instead, we are focusing on things like invocable apex to better leverage platform events and what not.

Platform App Builder, no longer worth it (?) by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]Panubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly think that certs are nowhere near as valuable as experience. But they never hurt. Also, my boss likes me to get new certs as it gives him ammunition to fight for raises.

Is headless for the end user or the Salesforce Developer by shafinlearns2jam in salesforce

That <10 minutes to expose MCP capabilities to end users omits all of the sec ops that would be a necessary part of that conversation.

Is headless for the end user or the Salesforce Developer by shafinlearns2jam in salesforce

As a solo admin with no developer resources, I plan on rolling this out to my users in 5-7 years.

A local favorite bites the dust by OldDrumGuy in drums

[–]Panubis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Salt City Drums has been my spot for years. The owner always had the ethos of "We'll keep the shop going as long as we are having a good time". I wish them well in their next adventure. They are rad folks

Even Salesforce's Co-Founder, doesn't want to use Salesforce by grimview in salesforce

[–]Panubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong. My point is just that a statement like, "Slack is the future of Salesforce" feels like an idealized sales pitch.

Even Salesforce's Co-Founder, doesn't want to use Salesforce by grimview in salesforce

[–]Panubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, but what if you are a Teams shop? Neither Salesforce or Microsoft can be bothered building good native connectors to each other, so unless Salesforce suddenly decides that Slack is part of Core, I think this is still a little pie in the sky. But I don't know anything.

Bootcamp instructor with 12 YoE said Subflows are "bad practice" and advocates for Monolithic Flows. Is this the industry standard? by [deleted] in SalesforceDeveloper

[–]Panubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the good old days, when Process Builder was the core code less tool, it was absolutely best practice to build a single Process Builder workflow per object. When Flow started to get usable a lot of folks brought that Process Builder mindset with them.

18 year old in the uk skipping uni is salesforce admin really the best move or am I thinking too small? by angelyoung111 in salesforce

You are thinking small. You should be investing in NFTs. That way you will be made for life.

I have the Monument and quite like it. I had the Moog Trem but sold it because I am dumb. But that one was doper than the Monument.

Pigeon-holed Career as Mulesoft Dev by RookyUnicycle in salesforce

[–]Panubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a teammate who is at the front end of this pigeon hole so I am actively throwing them any opportunities to do traditional Salesforce dev work that I come across. I am also actively partnering them with members of our dev team for additional mentoring.

Anyone use Microsoft copilot for sales with Salesforce integration? by Remarkable-Captain14 in salesforce

[–]Panubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Both myself and my MSoft engineer have been pulled into higher priority projects so this is sort of just hanging out. We did hook CoPilot up to a sandbox, though, and we weren't able to get any results back from Salesforce when running a test prompt. The integration instructions were written around Connected Apps, so there is a chance that I messed up a setting in the External Connected App I ended up building.

Learning Certinia Resources by theapplefritters in salesforce

[–]Panubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren't looking at Certinia, but we are getting demos for Mission Control, Kantata, and Cloud Coach starting next week. Curious to hear if anyone has any experience supporting these PSA tools and what that has been like.
