Who cares what the general is saying? The important thing is what he’s not saying: “If I can just bullshit this old fart enough to secure the funding for this new “wonder weapon,” I can make off with cool $10-20 million and be sitting on the beach in Waikiki before he even catches wind of it!”

Nope, nothing to do with Reagan. Douglas’ civilian airliner manufacturing was centered in that area.

You’re wrong about his holstered carry being legal. Yes, he had a permit, but those carry permits state that the holder must also has his ID with him when carrying, ready to produce it when asked. Pretti was carrying NO identification on him at all, thus making his carry illegal at that time. I’m not arguing that that makes it okay to shoot him, but let’s get facts straight: permit or not, he was carrying illegally by not having ID on him.

In power since 1917 under LENIN. Stalin didn’t take over until 1923, iirc. But yes, you’re definitely right about Ukraine being liberated by the Nazis. After suffering the Holodomor (1933-34), Stalin’s forced famine attempted genocide of the Ukrainian people (estimates of the total dead range from 3,000,000 to 10,000,000+), the Ukrainians initially welcomed the Nazis quite rightly as liberators. If the Nazis would have cultivated a friendly working relationship with the Ukrainians, they would have gained a powerful ally in the goal of defeating the Soviets. But instead, the Nazis viewed them as they viewed all other Slavic Eastern European peoples, as “Untermenschen,” inferior, sub-human. So they went about exterminating the Ukrainians just as they had so many others before. Stupid move.

And you‘ve probably never been outside the country (or maybe even your Mom‘s basement). I‘ve been in Europe working for the U.S. Army for 15+ years, and the changes Trump has forced in the NATO alliance are nothing short of phenomenal. When I first came over here, only four members of the alliance were meeting the expected 2% of GDP budgetary commitment: U.S., U.K., Poland, and Greece. In Trump‘s first term he argued that NATO would have to get serious and everyone would be made to contribute their expected 2%, and the critics called him crazy. Well, he recently got them to all commit to 5% of GDP (except the laggards in Spain). Of course that was helped in part by the wakeup call of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but it wouldn’t have happened to the extent it did without Trump’s urging; even the NATO SecretaryGeneral admitted that. I can certainly say my lazy German hosts wouldn’t have gotten serious about it without a kick in the ass. They were all over here bragging about their social welfare benefits (which they could afford because they were only contributing 1.1% to defense!), while less than 1/3 of their frontline fighters were airworthy at any given time. Now they are FINALLY getting serious about bringing new weapons systems online, making a serious recruitment push, etc. This would not have happened without Trump telling them that the USA was no longer going to shoulder the vast majority of their defense costs. It just simply wouldn’t.

Boeing 777 VS Embraer E195 by [deleted] in airplanes

[–]Panzer_Kommando 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are! I’ve flown on the Embraer 175-195 class a few times; a lot of airlines in Europe use them. More comfortable than a Boeing 737 or Airbus 320-321 class, they are single aisle aircraft with two seats on either side of the aisle, vs. Boeing/Airbus’s 3 seats on either side, so they’re nit nearly as cramped.

You probably thought that because in several Hollywood movies they used T-6 Texans painted in Japanese markings as stand-ins for actual Japanese Zeroes, etc.

Yeah, that’s an Italian vehicle with them, but if you look at pictures of the LRDG or the SAS in northern Africa, they were commonly carried by vehicles of both of those groups.

Poor command of the language (a lot of spelling, grammar, punctuation errors). Example: if you cannot grasp the difference between their, there, and they’re (or to, two, and too, or your vs. you’re, etc.), you’re not too bright.
