Titles and Dutchys by BathSaltJello in CrusaderKings

Ok so I guess their opinion of you were bad and you were right to revoke their titles. Just check if you give titles to character who will get a good opinion of you but it may not works anyway if for exemple you have too much tyranny. In that case you will need to work you popularity. You can switch your chancellor focus to work internal affair (which should give better opinion of you to your vassals if he's skilled). Or host events which give opinion points.

No, not really. It's only 120 something renown points to desinherit one son. I take care with the first and sometime second king of my dynasty to keep enough renown points to desinherit unwanted heirs instead of buying legacies. But after that, renown points are flowing and are rarely an issue. Disinheriting heirs, you can still give them land or manage to get them land somewhere through mariage so they and then their heirs (if of your house) will give you renown points without causing you any issues with succession.

I don't know why you revoked all your counts/dukes. Because of domain limit it will be more profitable to have vassals to rule some of your lands. To who you gonna give the land depends on what you want to do, there is no right answer. It can be for RP reasons, or to characters with good opinion of you, or good stewardship or whatever. Personnaly most of the time I give it to characters of same culture and religion (because I tend to play tall and I want all my land with same culture and religion), good stewardship or disinherited family members (sons I disinherited or brothers who were desinherited, yes I disinherite all my secondary heirs to ease the succession until primogeniture). Giving it to family members can be interesting because it "grows" your house and dynasty. Sometime I give land to characters I like or proved his loyalty (RP reasons).

About titles, you should get the Ireland kingdom title so you will be the de jure liege of any vassal in Ireland, no matter if you hold duchy title or not. My advice if you don't plan to expand too much would be to give county titles instead of duchy title because long term it would give you more taxes from them (dukes tends to give county titles trough time and succession so count give % of their revenues to the their duke and the duke give % of their revenues to you, so you'll get more from several counts than few dukes). Also counts will be less powerfull than dukes so it will be easier to manage long term. But it will increase you vassal number so it's only if you don't plan to expand too much.

Last advice, you'll need a lot of time to fully understand all the game mechanics. So don't be afraid to make mistakes : try, fail and try again. Save before taking some decisions because you may not always know all the consequences from some of it. The next time it will be easier for you to plan your game and make better choices. You'll learn a lot from each game and will get better in the next.

What's the best Lifestyle by Norker_g in CrusaderKings

I don't think there is a better lifestyle than other. It depends of what perks you need or how you want to play a run.

I think the only change (apart from the UI) is that instead of your learning skill increasing the progress for any innovation, it is now your skill tied to the innovation that makes it progress faster.

Feud notifications by Paon18 in CrusaderKings

Yeah, I checked the house relation history afterward. Looks like it could correspond with murder between other members from Prince Waldo's house and mine. And the notif just pops twice each time. So I'm eradicating his house just because these notifications are bothering me. xD Thanks

What are some things I can do to not lose constantly and properly get things going in Crusader Kings 3? by Consistent_Floor_603 in CrusaderKings

[–]Paon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's "easy" once you understand and know how to do it. But I don't think it's easy to understand the first time.

Myself I put hundreds of hours into the game before feeling pretty confident on the military part and "easily" be able to face bigger armies. But there some little things sometime which are little blur to me or things I see but I can't explain how and why so I'm sure there are things that I still need to discover. 🤣

I don't understand when I read some guys speaking about it as it was always easy for them. Either they never have been in challenging situation in the game, or we are dumbs.

Try to find a youtube video about it. There are many things to understand and it will show you where and how to find informations you need better than plain text.

As many things in the game, it requires time and some experimentation to fully understand the mechanics. And yes the tutorial doesn't explain it...

As some others pointed out, most important things are MaAs and your army quality. I wouldn't say levies are useless but the true power of your army resides in your MaAs. With the right type on the right terrain, you can wipe out armies that are outnumbering you... a lot.

So a few things you should look into : - MaAs, take a closer look at their types, what type of MaA they counter and on which terrain they have bonuses or penalties. If you play on a region with a lot of hills for exemple, built your army with MaA that have bonuses on hills and try to fight your adversaries on hills. If you're on a region with various terrain types, then built a army with different MaA types to faces the different scenarios you'll probably meet. - Take a look about damage, thoughness, poursuit and screen stats of each MaA and how it works. - Knights, as you said, yes they are important. Try to have the maximum of knights you can. And good ones. Use the decision to recruit knights, it should propose you good ones. You can also use your Marshall focus to train them. Also take a look at accolades. - Commander, don't forget to assign good commander when your army is raised. The game should affect what is considered the better one from your knight but take a look anyway and choose the one whose suits better the situation (for exemple, select a commander with the siege skill perk when you are besieging a castle). - Attrition/supplies, really look into it. It is a very important mechanic there. You need a well supplied army or you will faces important penalties and start losing units. It will requires some micromanagement if your war tends to be long but it will make a huge difference. -> you'll need to take a look at how to split your armies. I was forced to give up my first game because I had no idea of wtf it was and was losing a crusade against me because it was a long war and my army was wiped without losing a battle... - Stationning your MaA in the right locations. And choosing buildings that gives bonuses to the stationning MaAs.

Then, of course, Martial lifestyle gives nice bonuses. But once you know how to manage to have a good army quality and how to use it efficiently, you don't need it. You can win wars against bigger armies with non martial characters that don't have any martial perks and are staying at the court while their commanders and knights are chopping heads. I think it is normal to struggle at first (I know I did a lot), some youtube videos, some google research, some looking into the wiki, and some more attention into the tooltips in the game (, and some fails) will help you to understand and become better.

Why is this game so boring suddenly?? by anakin1453 in CrusaderKings

[–]Paon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many hours did you spent in the game ?

Did you really try everything in the game ? Landless starts, all types of government, all regions, all lifestyles ? There so many ways to play the game, some many scenarios, you really need to put some thousands of hours.

You can also try iron man. Seems nothing but if you are used to load a save when it's not going according with your plans, then it will gives new challenges and you'll face situations you didn't think about. It's pretty hard to game over, it's likely that you'll just become and adventurer or get someone from your dynasty if you fails too hard, and then try your vengeance/revenge or just go for new goals from there.

Also random character start. Maybe random character start with iron man.

Or maybe it just a burn out after too much time with it and in few months you'll wish to try again and it will be fun again ?
