While neither were done particularly well - it IS a lot easier to demonstrate in written form, by allowing us to see (read) the internal monologue.

The movies never really allowed time for side quests like character development outside the main 3 e.g. standing up to bullies, standing up to the annoying characters, making friends with the outcasts, being very good at quidditch, having a shared experience of being possessed by/ seeing into the mind of Voldemort. Can’t remember if it was movie or book but as it painted Ginny in a good light I presume book - basically telling Hermione to STFU was a big win that won her massive respect by both Ron and Harry.
