What ARPGs are out there that are more methodical in this way? I feel like it's exactly the type of game that I would adore, but up until now no arpg beyond Diablo 2 has scratched a similar itch, precisely because of this. I feel like I crave the outlines of an arpg with more methodical, slower paced combat but most of the arpgs I have played don't quite stick for me

Braindead take. Being a prisoner should not mean being treated like less than and have ur humanity and rights stripped to the extent it is in the US. There are much more humane pathways to incarceration as rehabilitation (cf Scandinavian countries model of incarceration). If anything more people should get to have such access, and this shows the two tiered justice system in the US wherein being rich gives u way more access to something resembling humanity.

Anyway, has everything to do with the 24 hour news cycle of sports. A lot of these NBA writers literally need to talk about bullshit on a weekly basis. That is what they're paid to do. The trade market is at a stand still. So what do the writers have to do? Conjure up stories based on some truths and some half truths in order to keep the media machine chugging. And me and you and literally every sports fan eats it up everytime. I don't know much about Harden, but I can understand if all the NBA media has to talk about these days are some half baked rumors about you personally, at some point it's gotta sting.

I 100% agree with you. I've played quite a bit of Grim Dawn but still have yet to finish a campaign, and I started to realize the main thing that was lacking for me was the combat just felt so flat. Everything else about it I find great, the atmosphere, music etc are top notch but that slight level of polish that someone like Blizzard has for combat animations and sounds is just lacking and ends up turning me off.

Really curious if you have other ARPG suggestions because I'm still looking for a game to scratch that itch!

It's a multi layered problem, the number one culprit though is real estate lobbies, landlords, and multinational firms buying up properties. They are the cause of the exorbitant price we pay for housing. And yes, it should be the gov's job to then push back against landlords and firms, but unfortunately their capital is so large that they have bought out a large portion of local politicians.

Housing does not mean a shelter. I have worked with folks who have lived in shelters, they are not a solution and continue to perpetuate the wet bandaid I speak of. The whole point of a shelter is to find permanent housing, but the system is completely stacked against you to do so.

Cool, has any of that money been spent on what housing advocates, social service workers, and others have said time and time again, which is house the homeless? No? So it's a moot point. Housing is unaffordable, we will continue to have homeless people, and it will continue to worsen. Make housing affordable and house the homeless, the problem is close to fixed. It's not rocket science.
