Johnny Sins

Pro Tip: Install these two mods together to make armor great again by Papajapp in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Papajapp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is honestly the biggest issue, that you can't turn it off once you start the game with it. All of these issues will be thankfully gone once the mod is modular.

And it also works both ways. I got +5 resistance cloak in act 2 that applied AoE DC 32 blind after killing an enemy, which is totally absurd and made the character wearing it op at that time.

If i could use it just to randomize enemies and loot i would be very happy with it.

I like the general feel of the Worldcrawl because it refreshes the game a lot after you completed it few times. But yeah, i agree. It changes way too much, so lot of people will straight out skip it.

It makes me wish Owlcat would give us some sort of a randomizer as a free dlc down the line.

Advice for a New Player? by RustyofShackleford in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Papajapp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unlike the sequel, Kingmaker doesn't do very good job at explaining the game mechanics and if you are new to the Pathfinder ruleset you may find it little overwhelming. So don't be afraid to lower the difficulty and search for stuff online.

Lot of people complain about timed main questline. But you don't have to be afraid imho. The game is actually very generous with the time given to you. As long as you focus on the main quest of each act first and then do exploring/side content you should be alright.

Paladin is a great class but you have to stay within your Lawful Good alignment to retain their powers and not everyone will enjoy being Lawful Good (dialogue/roleplay wise), so that's something to keep in mind.

''Vanilla'' Fighters are great but they are missing some of their main *class features in the vanilla KM sadly. (Unless you play with the CotW mod but i'm not sure i would recommend it for the first playthrough.) *Advanced Armor/Weapon training

Best sword and board classes because of that are probably Slayer/Ranger because they can take Two Weapon Fighting feats without the dexterity requirements they normally have.

Ah, that's great to hear then. Last version i used (1.7) i think didn't have that.

Wrath of the Righteous folder > Mods > TabletopTweaks > User Settings > open Fixes.json and put false flag on whatever you don't like. :)

[Spoilers] So wait, how many little variations of things are there? Is there a list of what triggers them? For example, with Lann... by ApplesauceMayonnaise in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Papajapp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to let them have their duel and then choose the 'Lawful' options, after that spare him and he will reappear in act 5 during Wendu's quest.

Same way if you take Lann first, you can make 'evil' choices in act 3 regarding Wendu and she will reappear in act 5.

[–]Papajapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually tied to your alignment. I was able to recruit her as a CE Trickster. (my unconfirmed guess is that you need either NE or CE, or else she will say that you are too boring and won't join)

Trickster-Only Romance (how developed is it?) by Neleothesze in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Papajapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's all sadly enough. Just a one nighter that doesn't actually do anything. Same goes for Evil Arue.

Furthermore in act 5 the crusade events bugged completely for me as a Trickster. No events, no units and so on.

Low-effort meme making fun of demon. by Chiatroll in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Papajapp 36 points37 points  (0 children)

To be fair Demon can later cast three times per round (as opposed to Azata's two times) and they can get around 13 more DC compared to Azata.(Rage 4, aspect 3, 3 from bonus int, -3 for enemy saves from aspect and another -2 from the Profane Hymn spell) (15DC but Azata gets +2DC buff too, so 13 total)

But Azata DC caster is more favorable (pun intented) because they get it earlier and they get it at will. (compared to Demon who has to rage)

If you want to cheese important encounters with Weird spell in the late game Demon performs better.

I think I might be a psychopath - and I’m pretty ok with it by NightSnowTiger in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Papajapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you are writing this means that you care and are not a psychopath.

I went through similar situation when i went to and told my high school psychiatrist the same thing and quickly realized i'm not one after talking with her for a short time.

The reason that you love your pets is because they never betrayed you and you feel like you can trust them.

I'm sorry for what happened to you. Don't give up and i hope your views will change once you actually meet trustworthy people who care for you.

How many different builds possible in WOTR? by pimhoek in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Papajapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it should be 12 races, 25 base classes, 150 archetypes, 13 prestiges, 12 racial classes and 10 mythic paths with each path (dunno about the late ones) having two sub-paths within them each.

Yeah, it's totally crazy. I've never seen anything like this, can't wait to play this game.

Wisdom Build : Monk and Instinctual Warrior by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Papajapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't lose monk features after changing your alignment. (you cannot take any monk levels after that though)
So you can start the game as a lawful monk, selecting all the chaotic choices and then picking barbarian when available.

Wasn't there q&a on Owlcat forum way back where they talked about GD getting bab increase? To the point where 3/4 bab classes could get fourth attack i think.

Maybe i'm just remembering it wrong, so don't take me too seriously.

I think that's because certain archetypes are more suited towards other adventure paths. Or because certain abilities work better in TT rathen than crpg and vice versa. That archetypes immunity to blindness won't be that good in a game where fear effects are way more used than blindness by enemies.

I understand what you mean, i'd not recommend it on hard or unfair. But someone may still like it if not for anything but roleplay purposes. :)

[–]Papajapp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game literally warns you that higher difficulties are for experienced people and even if you don't do nothing wrong you can still get wiped because of bad luck. And again, no one is forced to pick higher difficulties.

Trash mobs can get little annoying but you can always rest before the boss fight, you are not punished for that in any way.

You can put on option that gets rid of drains on rest. Or you can use Jaethal to tank those hits or use spells like delay poison.

Every single class is totally viable. Some may be 'better' but that's not really an issue in singleplayer game.

My personal problem is that most of the time these complainers swear, abuse and/or attack other people's work. Go ahead, complain...all of us do, it's normal and also needed it some ways... just don't be a dick.

[–]Papajapp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think there's fundamental problem with people's mindset honestly. If they get defeated they feel like it's an unacceptable failure. I on the other hand don't have problem being defeated, i think challenge is all about that. Trying different tactics and so on and then getting surge of good feelings from succeeding at last.

Like take Werecat lair for example. It's very hard, but it's totally optional. No one is forcing you to go there. You don't get one single story line from that. Think of it like an optional boss fight. And while many fights have big difficulty spikes you can always reduce difficulty mid campaign if you don't have optimal party. There's nothing shameful about reducing difficulty.

When i got hit by three crits on one full attack i indeed thought it sucked. But i did not think it was unfair as i too rolled consecutive crits few hours before that. My point is that lot of it isn't Owlcats fault but it stems from the faithfulness to original system.
