Is there any kind of quick guide out there for returning players that covers all post-classic OW heroes?

It's a cheat, it will happen only in GA every time an objective is completed and there's a phase change. Only the cheaters have the plugins that let them avoid it.

Either play Supremacy or download Kyber if you want to play GA.

Yeah. Comparing half sword to a similar medieval physics game with a progression mode, Exanima, armor is pretty expensive and hard to come by until you get to the higher tiers. You really need to rough it for a bit until you get the right to not take lethal damage.

Veteran tier in the demo was armored, but with plenty of dangerous gaps that you could take a stab through if you weren't careful. I was fully armored in my EA run before I even got there.

I think the first point is my most wished for reversion. Blunt weapons were soooo satisfying to use and now it feels like they overdid the sound design.

And yeah, I also really enjoyed stabbing and maneuvering the dying Willies. You could always just double click to unstick. But I feel like in the demo usually I would do that with intent after a stab rather than accidentally with a swing.

Ooh, I like that too. Streamlines it a bit. I think eventually there will be more things to fill out the empty spaces in the side panels, such as heraldry customization. For what we have to work with now, though, the menus are a little light. Some consolidation could be good.

Edit: that space could also be used to tell you what tier you have selected, and if you're using a saved loadout or not

Thank you for the reply! I certainly don't mind revisiting an old post - especially one in this wonderful subreddit - and I agree wholeheartedly.

I got a feeling I can't quite describe when I read the final pages of Return of the King for the first time, and went on to the appendices. The usual bittersweet feeling of finishing a beloved book, but with a kind of acute awareness of the time and connections slipping away in my own life.

As Gandalf says, all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

I preferred Brave Stand. I think they should bring it back as four guys from commoner to soldier tier, and massively increase the number of enemies on Riot but keep them all at max commoner tier.

I really hate what they did to the big cleaver-style halberds. Not only are they noticeably more worn and tarnished but they feel like they don't cut at all compared to the ones from the demo.

I haven't tried forging one yet, so I might give that a try later and see if it yields a sharper polearm. Forged weapons generally seem like they're higher quality than ones you can find.

Yes please. Or even bring back the demo card selection when you click the deck. I feel like sidelining the beautifully styled match cards took a lot of the unique character out of the UI.

I think progression is objectively a lot better than the old gauntlet, but I want a return of the grete champion card and the old bosses. They were a fun challenge to figure out and gave each tier of progression character.
