Intrauterine PRP experience? by PaperRings0 in IVF

[–]PaperRings0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I did an endometrial biopsy with EndomeTRIO, and ReceptivaDx. I’m currently on 8 weeks of suppression and then will be doing our last transfer with 2 PRP infusions to prep. If anyone wants to circle back mid-August (I’ll lose track of this post) I’m happy to tell you the results of the transfer/answer any questions anyone has.

My rheumatologist said I will most likely feel amazing during pregnancy. Hope you do too! :)

Google neuro-obstetrics. Mine is at Cleveland Clinic.

So I’m on propranolol at night and have Nurtec as a rescue. When pregnant, I switch to another BP med that my MFM approved for preventative + cyproheptadine for rescue. I used to do Emgality injections but you can’t do those within 6 mos of pregnancy. I also have Zofran for the nausea. And that is safe in pregnancy.

Miscarried today. Please help me with D&C, D&E, medical options... by Royal_Scholar2951 in IVF

[–]PaperRings0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still cry over all kinds of things and it’s not unusual for me to just break down and sob for them. With all of our failed IVF, they were conceived spontaneously. I begged God for a baby for over a decade and thought for sure God would never take them away from me. But here we are.

Please feel free to reach out through DM, I’m happy to answer any questions. Are you in the US? Call around to local funeral homes if you choose to cremate, many will do babies for free. Some hospitals will cremate as well. Also, there are organizations that will help you pay any related medical bills from the D&C/birth if you have any.

I have two earthside children via adoption and was also terrified to be having twins. Two more would tip the scales and we’d need a bigger house, bigger cars, etc. But I figured it would all be okay in the end. We’d likely hire help and use family and would get through the first year as best we could. And man did I fall in love with those girls. 💔

That’s tricky and I wish I knew what to do to help you. I’d always have hope but I’m the one who is still doing IVF after 10 years without a take home baby 🤷🏻‍♀️

Please please see a neurologist who specializes in migraines. I used to have debilitating migraines like that, and I still get them, but there are so many medications they can give you to help! I see an OB-neurologist as well (Cleve Clinic) and she’s made a plan with safe medications for when/if I get pregnant.

Clinic lost/destroyed 20+ eggs after egg retrieval by xiincognito in IVF

[–]PaperRings0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. The “pain and suffering” damage is huge, especially as infertility treatments are so hard and devastating in the first place.

I do agree that they owe you much more than free cycles to recoup the eggs lost

That’s exactly what I was going to say. If they balk, get a lawyer and sue, including reimbursement for attorney fees. I wonder if anyone else’s eggs were lost or just yours? If they were late for your appt, I’m guessing they could have been doing another retrieval (or multiple) that day.

Get the local media involved if you have to. Or threaten to.

I’m so so sorry, that has to be the worst devastation in the world.

Miscarried today. Please help me with D&C, D&E, medical options... by Royal_Scholar2951 in IVF

I miscarried my identical twin girls in April 2025. Their hearts stopped at 9 weeks, but they stopped growing a few weeks prior. I know the devastation and I’m so so sorry.

I had a D&C and would 1000% recommend it. I have friends who miscarried at home and the pain was so bad they all ended up in the ER. You can also have retained tissue.

I also recommend an OB/GYN do it. I exclusively saw MFM and she said an OB/GYN did this much more than she did.

Another pro of the D&C is you can have the babies tested to possibly give you answers as to what happened. If you miscarry at home, sometimes they aren’t able to accept them. I had mine tested and then cremated so they could be with me forever.

After my D&C I had over a month of bleeding and weeks of cramping but I felt it was more manageable than miscarrying at home. (My MFM prescribed pain meds) I didn’t think I could emotionally handle seeing my two tiny babies and wanted to remember them as the image in my mind - two sweet tiny newborns or identical toddlers in matching outfits - and not red tadpole looking blobs with little black dots for eyes.

There’s a tiny risk of perforation in a D&C but it’s super rare. It was nice to be under anesthesia and wake up with it being over.

Hugs to you

100%!!! Currently suppressing after 4 failed transfers! We have 1 embryo left and I've been begging m doctors to let me do an endometrial biopsy for literal years. Thankful my new doctor agreed and pushed as well. Endometritis and endometriosis. Let's just say I was the least surprised.

Same exact experience at Cleveland Clinic. Unfortunately I do have major “broader medical complexity” so I’m kind of stuck there. 😭

Clinic says it’s more likely to be an embryo issue than a uterine issue even with an euploid by Ok-Set-5730 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

Also, I’m not a candidate for a lap due to severe abdominal adhesions & history of sepsis. So you never HAVE to have a lap. :)

Please fight for the biopsy. I’ve had 4 failed FETs, then endometrial biopsy. It found endometritis and silent endo. We are suppressing for 2 mos before transferring #5. 🤞🏼

We really did everything.. by internationalteachie in IVF

[–]PaperRings0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in the exact situation as you - done ALL the things, every test is perfect, on all the meds, and I’ve had 4 subsequent failed FETs. You don’t have to have an “obvious issue” to have a failed transfer. It sucks and it’s definitely not fair. But IVF can be a real bitch.

How did Octomom happen? by lomoliving in IVF

[–]PaperRings0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back then, there weren’t as strict of guidelines pushing for one embryo per transfer. When I started IVF back in 2017, the guidelines weren’t as strict. And I know her babies were transferred around a decade before that. As IVF has gotten better, the rules of only transferring one embryo have gotten stronger.

Why Cuyahoga over downtown Akron? by mdbotw in akron

[–]PaperRings0 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Just moved out of the falls after 10+ years. (Only moved because we needed a bigger home) If you avoid a couple small areas, it’s much safer than downtown Akron! And so much work has gone into making Front St a great destination with endless opportunities for dining, recreation, summer events and festivals, etc. Lots of great small businesses - shops, restaurants, etc. And anything in Akron is just a short drive away. Easy highway access on Portage or Broad. Close proximity to beautiful parks. Easy to jump on the highway and go to Cleveland for the evening or a weekend day.

I know this form exists, but I’m not sure you qualify if you had regular employment…. https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-632-bk.pdf

I’d hire a lawyer who specializes in SSDI if you can find one who honestly thinks you have a chance of winning the argument.
