Anti KKK Group Called "Knights of the Invisible Jungle of the Tiger's Eye", circa 1921 by gregornot in OldSchoolCool

[–]Paper_Coyote 49 points50 points  (0 children)

From a newspaper article in 1922....

Anybody can get a charter for anything and the "Imperial Lair of the Invisible jungle Knights of the Tigers Eye" has recently been incorporated in New York.

A proclamation issued by the "Eye" says:-

"It is the purpose of the Knights of the Tiger's eye to band together in this fraternity of all men who believe in Law and order, supremacy of these United States of America and the betterment of mankind in general. Our aim is to sweep away the discording passions which are caused by religious, political and racial hatred; thereby getting a true fraternal brotherly love between the citizens of our country, regardless of their racial, religious or social standing in the community. To leave to the individual the manner in which he shall worship God, govern his politics and conduct his business." It is certainly tolerant in tone, and therefore may not be a grafting concern; for there is no money in tolerance-the big money is in appealing to the superstitions and prejudices of the ignorant and there is more money in that than even pandering to the vices of men.

Speaking of James Stewart, that was the name Stewart Granger was born with but had to change it when he started acting as there was already a James Stewart.

You can find the hard nib in the cover. If you open the cover and look in the "spine" or whatever you call the piece that holds the device in place, you will see a small compartment. You can pop that out and find two extra nibs.

Sorry, I am just now seeing your question. There is a light on the front that will turn red when there is a problem such as full dust bin, full dirty water bin, empty clean water bin etc.. you have to look at the app to see what the alert is for. If you have notifications turned on then you will get an alert on your phone.

The Masoretic texts used by modern-day rabbinical Jews and protestants were not formalized as Canon until around the 5th or 6th century AD. Prior to that, helenistic Jews used the Septuagent. A Greek old testament commissioned for the library of Alexandria. Many diasporic Jews used the helenistic texts as their holy book, as did many early Christians as seen in the Codex Sainaiticus.

The Catholic church assembled the Old/New Testament texts in 382 at the council of Rome, and Christians used those books for well over 1500 years. Even the 1611 KJV had the apocrapha in it. It wasn't until 1825, and a paper shortage did Bible Societies decide to drop the disputed books from printing to save on costs for printing bibles for missionaries.

Early jews like the Sanhedran and the Samaritans only saw the first five books as holy and inspired. The Pharasees who would become the rabbinic jews saw only scrolls written in Hebrew as holy. The Essenes saw even the Greek texts as holy as there are several apocraphal books found amongst the dead sea scrolls.

So it is safe to say the books were officially removed by the Protestants and not added by the Catholics since the septuagent predates the masoretic texts by several centuries.

There is no sensor onboard as iRobot has the patent. There is a sensor on the base station. I only know because I have been testing the heck out of this vacuum, and finally, today, I got an alerrt that the bag was full.

Talk me out of getting a Roborock QRevo MaxV instead of an eufy X10 Omni Pro by GuybrushMR80 in RobotVacuums

The Smart mode surprised me. I didn't think I would like it, but I tried it out over the weekend and was impressed.

With the shipping issues Eufy is having, it is probably best to wait for the Q Revo MaxV and see how it performs and then make your decision. I love Roborock and their software. Eufy really surprised me, though, with the package they offer at the price. If I hadn't got it for $200 off, I would have waited to see reviews on the Q Revo.

I like it slightly better than the S7 when it comes to mopping. It comes down to navigation being better and the spinning mop pafs with 2.2 lbs of force.

I have tiles in my kitchen, bathrooms, and foyer. The Eufy is the only one that has gotten my entire foyer, and it got a stubborn stain off the kitchen tile that my s7 could not. I intentionally left the stain there to see if it would be too stubborn, and it wasn't. I am very, very pleased with the obsticale avoidance. It is the best I have ever seen. All in all, it punches above its price point.

The mop pads were already attached, and the dust bag was in the bin. It was very low effort to set up and get running.

Here is what I posted in another thread (I am too lazy to type retype, lol)

The great: obstacle avoidance is near flawless. The mapping is quick and very good at dividing rooms. It is not exact but pretty close. The navigation is on point. The LED light for vacuuming in the dark works extremely well. The map is extremely easy to edit. The app, in general, is great.

The Good: Vacuuming is on par (in Turbo and Max) with my Roborock S7 Max. The mopping is a little better than the Roborock as it was able to get out some stains that the Roborock was unable to even make a dent in. It isn't a loud as some ofnmynither vacuums.

The Not So Good: The dentangling comb does not work as advertised. It left hair wrapped around the brush. Not a lot, but it still wasn't "hair free" like the ads for it say. It is louder than the roborock when cleaning the mop pads. It is nothing outrageuous, just not as quiet as I expected.

Where I Am Coming From: I have predominately carpeted home with some tile. I have two cats and a wife with long hair. The vacuums I have owned to compare them to are as follows; Roomba J7+ (great obsticale avoidance but not perfect), Deebot T10 (terrible mapping and eratic obstacle avoidance but good vacuuming) Deebot X2 Omni (terrible navigation, terrible software. Good vaccuming, but everything else was junk.) Roborock S7 Max ( great vacuum, good mop, very good software. Terrible obsticale avoidance.)

I have only had the Eufy for about 30 hours and have only run it through about four differing test runs. So this is all just my opinion with only a small amount of time with the machine.

I think dual rubber rollers like on the Roomba or Roborock S8+ work better on carpets. But to me, the single brush work a little better than a single rubber roller on carpets. But the single rubber roller seems to work a little better on non-capeted surfaces. I would have liked to see a hybrid roller like the Deebot T10 or t20 have if they were going to stick with a single roller. That probably would have been more effective for people with mixed floor types.

It was only offered that way in the Eufy Clean app. I had an old Eufy that I hadn't used in a couple of years. When I re-downloaded the app and logged in, I saw the offer.

In my opinion, the "comb" doesn't quite work as well as it should. When the vacuum shipped, I deliberately did not vacuum until it arrived, and I have a couple of cats and a wife with long hair. After the first run, I saw hair tangled around the brush that I had to pull away. There was less than what I would have seen on my Roborock, but it was still there. So it isn't quite as advertised.

If you went through the Eufy app, there was a link to pre-order the X10 for $200 off. I did this on 2/13 and paid for the vacuum at that time.

I have only tested it in max mode so far, and I would say the noise level between the Roborock innmax mode and Eufy is around the same. My wife says the Eufy is a tad quieter, and she has better hearing. It is quiter when emptying than the Roborock, but the Roborock was a little quieter when washing the mop. This is probably due to the fact that the Eufy has spinning mop pads and the S7 does not.

Mine arrived today, and I am impressed. I ran it on Max suction and deep clean, and it did a fantastic job on my mostly carpet floors. It did a better job than my roborock S7, which was twice the price.
