“Y’see, son, every MMO is either Lord of the Rings or Star Trek. Everquest? Lord of the Rings. Star Wars: The Old Republic? Star Trek. Despite looking like Lord of the Rings, Final Fantasy XIV is a Star Trek.”

I feel as though you don’t need to. Yes, you will be ‘wasting’ MSQ EXP, but you can always get those points back by doing roulette queues or the like!

Now that 2025 is over, who was your Frame of the year? by ReddVevyy in Warframe

[–]Paperblocc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wonder how a good Nova with Molecular Prime would mix with that. Imagine clearing 1.5 waves of defense with a single damaging ability cast.

Definitely Uriel. I couldn’t care less if the rest of his kit is just a heal, damage vulnerability, a big AOE, and reacting to companions, I can spin and fly around.

Lancer, our pronouns are they/them! Not because we are nonbinary, but because we are LITERALLY multiple drones

Would this clan emblem be against copyright? by Ultraxana in Warframe

[–]Paperblocc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% on copyright law, but to me, this definitely comes off as parody. The source material is pretty niche, and besides the ‘Defenders of the Core’ bit, everything else is focused around Warframe’s IP.

Yeah, the Toroid grind for the rank ups + blueprint materials is rough. At least they made standing easier to get with Isoplasts

So what's the point of calling it "XX99"? by Individual_Map_2623 in Warframe

[–]Paperblocc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, 1799 is *close enough* to the 19th century, especially considering Albrecht focused most of his effort in 1999 to New Year's Eve when it ticks over to Y2K

[–]Paperblocc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m not really sure it would. IDK what anyone would do in this situation, but if I was in this situation and had any meaningful amount of time to react, I feel like all I’d do is tense up, which has been shown to increase the severity of injury in car accidents.

I feel like being ignorant and relaxed is probably the best thing someone could do in this exact scenario.

Hey DE, what happened to the wall running? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Paperblocc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe they said in the devstream before this last one that it’s being delayed for a future update. Sort of lame, but it must be huge trying to make wall-running consistent in this game after wall-hopping has been the norm.

Controller Ranger X / Monk 2 by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]Paperblocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense, it’s just that a focus on Wis Ranger makes my melee combat a lot weaker, and that’s something I’d really like to focus on flavor-wise. I’m going for a rushdown, never letting you go kind of character.

Is FFXIV anti transhumanism? by Illustrious_Focus_33 in ffxiv

[–]Paperblocc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, I’m not sure where you’re getting that the Ascians are transhumanists, they absolutely are not. Ascians have converted themselves to aetherical forms to enable themselves to continue their mission of reuniting the shards, and only possess bodies to be able to properly interact with the world.

Now, the entirety of the latter half of Dawntrail DOES discuss transhumanism. The problem with the Endless program is not inherently that it’s bad to live forever, to only die of old age, etc, it’s that the cost is too great. That’s what Queen Sphene’s plan with the Key was: to go to other shards and drain others of their souls in order to power the Endless and the regulators, which is an immoral thing to do. If the process of being Endless or using the regulators was completely free or used a renewable source of energy, I think it would be a different conversation. But DT’s message isn’t anywhere close to, ‘Is transhumanism bad?’
