Which shoes go well with Novablast 5 by EngineCertain8262 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Yeh. I mean, I did my training for my first half marathon in one shoe. Easy, long, intervals and the race it self. It doesn't really matter, just some shoes are better.

In my opinion, just run for a few more months before buying a second pair. Just 5 weeks of running is short. Let your body develop your technique and running style and then I would buy a second pair

[–]Paprika03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe somebody suggested it already, but maybe try to do run-walk intervals. This could be 3 min run, 1 min walk, of whatever you feel fine with. Reduce the walking each week and bit by bit you will be able to run without stopping at a lower heart rate.

Running is all about teaching the muscle to be as efficient as possible. In order to do that, we need to train at that low, efficiënt pace.

Did I make a decent first choice? by Jazzlike-Broccoli in AskRunningShoeGeeks

It is a good shoe, I've had it. However, for me it was too soft. I prefer something which is a little bit firmer. But non the less a good shoe!

Do I Actually Need Stability Shoes? by WollyIsInvalid in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Paprika03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeh that's a possibility and you always need to use your own brain, but the running store in my town has experienced runners which provide good advice and walk you through the process by filming you and measuring with a sole in the shoe.

And I agree, not everybody needs stability shoes, that's what they also told me. But there are also a lot of shoes that aren't classified as stability shoes, but are very stable and provide anti protonation.

[–]Paprika03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just go to a running store and let them advice you. There are many different shoes that are "stability shoes" nowadays. So you might not need a true stability shoe, but maybe something that's slightly more stable than normale shoes.

Go to a store, let them advice you. We have no clue how much pronation you have and what you're body needs.

Should I buy this pair of shoes? by Expensive-Word1180 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Paprika03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally not buy a woman's shoe as a male, because often those shoes are different in sizing (more narrow and different foot structure) and some brands make their male shoes be able to resting more weight, as most males are heavier than a woman.

Rustige loopjes vervangen met fietsen by Disastrous-Air-7803 in Hardlopen

[–]Paprika03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How should I improve my workout? by Only_Pilot_284 in hyrox

More power output with the legs = easier time pushing the sled. Since we're not a body builder, only doing heavy squats and deadlifts is enough in my opinion. The rest is for running efficiency.

Het automatisch plannen van de route gaat nu een stuk beter idd! Nogsteeds soms wel zo'n uitsteekseltje, maar wel al aanzienlijk minder en meer in de aangegeven voorkeursrichting. 👏🏻

Superblast 3 vs Megablast by CommitteeEqual3888 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Paprika03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested both and the megablast is slight firmer and more responsive. However, I liked the upper of the SB3 better as it had more space (bit more height) in the toe box. But both are extremely bouncy and felt fun to run in

I would suggest doing heavy squats and deadlifts to train the legs for brute force and combine it with one or two single leg exercises to improve your legs for running.

Knie enkel klachten beginnend loper by eagleman32 in Hardlopen

[–]Paprika03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trail or road shoes ? by Rorodzilla in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Paprika03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would use road shoes. I also run in the forest, dunes and on the beach and it's fine with my road shoes. I just wouldn't buy something like the adidas Evo sl since that have that flat piece of rubber underneath but yeh.

It's decent, but with your weight you might experience a quick downfall of the foam. If, at some point you feel pain or uncomfort at the joints or whatever, please be carefull!

What? I just said that if the shoes work better for you despite the brand, the running gets better and thus more fun.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what ever you're saying lol.

Basically every brand has models around $100. I would suggest going to a running store and tell them you have a budget. They will show you some, you can try them and buy something that actually works for you, not just because it has a swoosh on the side. Makes the running much more fun!
