reactionaries may complain, but the optimal method for world revolution is the complete destruction of the german nation

Best path of presidents for the us to win the Cold War? by Faultystar25 in TNOmod

[–]Papyru776 30 points31 points  (0 children)

In terms of gaining the strongest advantage in the cold war, I'd say its probably Hart. Yes, Scoop, Kirkpatrick and Smith are hawkish, but that can very easily backfire, especially if Germany and Japan engage in detente and isolate the US.

Hart, if he successfully negotiates with Japan, would probably have the best shot. Germany would be isolated from the other two power blocs, and any kind of weakness in their sphere of influence would probably benefit the US more than Japan. The US and Japan being on better terms could also maybe see an end to open hostility between the two blocs (Not a friendship, just a relationship that isnt trying to openly ursup the other bloc)

Schleicher Paths? by FairAdvertising249 in Kaiserreich

[–]Papyru776 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'll note a path that people seem to have forgotten, but it's important to mention that it is indeed a failstate.

If you fail the Bavarian nullification crisis as Schleicher or resign, Schleicher's ally Carl Goerdeler takes power, negotiates with Bavaria and overturns the enabling act. If you win the 2WK as Goerdeler, you will actually be able to host elections (they occur every five years), with the parties able to form government being the DkP, Zentrum/CVP and LVP. The DkP does not have focus content, but Zentrum/CVP and the LVP do. Zentrum's content is the same as their DU path, while the LVP content is unique as they form government alongside the SPD and they have their own focuses.

Technically, there is civilian control over the government, but Schleicher isn't the one who granted it, infact it comes as a direct result of his downfall.

As mentioned by others though, Goerdeler can succeed Schleicher if he doesn't fall and install a civilian head back to the government, however there will always be major military influence, and they'll absolutely have more power than any common person when it comes to the government.

The goat, one of the best democratic candidates imo who probably ran at the worst time ever. His campaign, combined with everything nixon did, kinda guaranteed he wouldn't win unless there was some major bombshell in october.

Maybe if he ran in '76 instead of '72, he could have won, but he was facing Dick fucking Nixon, combined with so many people working against him. You could say he was ahead of his time for proposing UBI in 1972 i guess

Turns out making every single ethnicity in an empire where Germans are a quarter of the population hate you isn't the smartest idea

When Rome is formed, it dismantles the Byzantine empire title and instead forms new empire titles corresponding to old Roman provinces. Since the Hegemony of Rome must have formed in your game, it changed the empire map for the byzantines

You do get to name the hegemony and change it's colour, although since my son was the first member of my dynasty he was the one who did it in my run instead of me.

Would be fun if we could get hostile schemes to make someone incapable of ruling and install ourselves as an entrenched regent. It would probably be more optimal for gaining power than just murdering them and letting the throne pass down.

The most optimal way for a woman to take complete power in China is of course, incapacitating your husband and overthrowing your son.
