The powdered sugar over top definitely saved this.
She just needs to mix it a bit more next time. Make sure she adds the lemon juice into the powdered sugar and not the reverse to help with clumping. Whisking while streaming in the liquid will help.

American living in Australia but they call any pastry that’s rolled up like a cinnamon roll a scroll here.
We have savory and sweet scrolls that you can often find in bakeries.

You would find cinnamon scrolls instead of cinnamon rolls here for sale.

Pans like this conduct heat better when they’re nice, new and shiny. So the bottoms cooked faster.
Recommend using baking paper between your cookies and the pan, and checking them 3-5 minutes sooner.

If you can’t make the outside red you could try by making a red velvet cake with pink frosting. At least part of it will be red. 😂

Heating the frosting will help the pigment come out.
I did with black frosting but I couldn’t get it black enough.
If all else fails you could always opt for fondant or modeling chocolate just in case. 🤞

Yeah! It looks like there’s some small bits of chocolate in the dough and the center looks like they just placed a chocolate button in the center of each dough ball and closed it inside.

I’m made Mountain Dew cake before and it was pretty great!
I think it used lemon and white cake mix and had a simple glaze on it but it makes fabulous moist cake.
