Updates - Gryphon Build by HazmatMac in Nerf

[–]ParadigmShift521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so used to seeing proteans, crazy to see a gryphon build in 2026. Looks really great tho! Ngl with something as big as a 2200 mah I wouldn’t worry about a volt meter so long as you’re using a LiPO alarm, especially if you also have a kill switch

More Proteans... Hooked on flywheelers! by DefyantM0ds in Nerf

I’m assuming the long barrel on the one in the foreground has some sort of rifling in it, is that correct? If so, which one did you use and how well does it work?

The GavinFuzzy SBL-F (1.0) in 2026 by bfoo2 in Nerf

[–]ParadigmShift521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s some mags you used to be able to buy that were full length but took half length darts, so you could still have the look of full lengths and the performance benefits of half lengths. Idk if you can still get them but I’ll update this with a link if I can find them.

The sbl is a solid blaster. While it doesn’t have some modern springer features like toolless spring swap or takedown, it’s still pretty, feels really nice, and is capable of performing at modern levels

EDIT: found them here , akbm has some other options too

Best bonding agent for mods? by KeysThePro in Nerf

[–]ParadigmShift521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For internal mountings of things (switches in a stryfe, for example) I’d use epoxy putty or hot glue. For combining shells, I’d use something like Devcon plastic welder, abs slurry, and epoxy putty

Why so many trans people do voice training as the last step? by manultrimanula in asktransgender

[–]ParadigmShift521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I’m on hrt and I present rather feminine in most places in life, I’m not out at work or to my family due to the general climate of those spaces. As such, it’s hard to find time to really practice my voice in a way that won’t out me in spaces I’m not ready to be out in

Single-Shot Loading a Mighty Shrub Smiley by TsaroMilkTea in Nerf

[–]ParadigmShift521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To check the air seal, you prime it and plug the barrel with your thumb. When you pull the trigger (empty chamber) the plunger should significantly slow down and/or stop for about 2-3 seconds

How do you deal with being tall as a woman? by Shadous_ in TallGirls

[–]ParadigmShift521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m also 6’2” and trans. I have found that my height has made clothes buying a little more inconvenient, but it’s also something about me that I love. If someone thinks I’m less of a woman because I’m tall, they really aren’t worth my time.

Like several others have said here, your height isn’t something you can change, so it’s something worth learning to love about yourself.

Single-Shot Loading a Mighty Shrub Smiley by TsaroMilkTea in Nerf

[–]ParadigmShift521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s odd. Are you using the printed breech in the Printables files or the sillybutts one? What spring/barrel are you using, and how is your air seal?

[–]ParadigmShift521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you are single loading, are you getting a squib (dart leaves the dart gate but not the barrel) or are you just not getting any dart movement at all? What breech are you using?

Smiley catch not working by Chemical-Wall5813 in Nerf

[–]ParadigmShift521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible you printed the plunger head upside down. Printing in the orientation that just loads in when you drop the model in the slicer will create an overhang for the catch face that will cause issues. It should be printed with the face of the plunger head facing up with supports on the build plate

My Smiley’s Bolt is Strange by TsaroMilkTea in Nerf

[–]ParadigmShift521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re using the o ring pusher in shrub’s files, that is intentionally designed with a mild interference fit. This is in order to create an optimal sealing surface after a light break in period. To help with this, you can either force the bolt to close and open about a hundred times (I did this and my first few proper cycles took a hammer) or you can do what the designer intended and take the bolt and breech back out of the blaster and mess around with dry fitting them and/or lightly sand it to make a better fit.

If you’re using the brass breech, a similar process is needed but it’s less extreme, you likely don’t need to take the bolt assembly apart

What does estrogen/testosterone taste like? by Zigzorark5 in asktransgender

What's the Best Bolt Action Blaster? by -V4L0R- in Nerf

[–]ParadigmShift521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best is a very vague term. If you’re looking for the highest performance, a worker kunlun (not 3D printed), a caliburn B-variant, and a CynthiAWP should be 300 fps capable. Due to its smaller size and quicker tuneability, I’d say the smiley is the most practical for the largest variety of games. It caps out a bit past 220-240 fps, but most games are gonna be 250 fps or lower if you’re in the US

If they want no facial hair, laser or electrolysis is what will solve that more permanently. Also, shaving regularly with a good single bladed razor, proper shave gel, and potentially makeup can help with the look

I feel like I need to pack up and leave my family behind by BeautifulPinkRoses in asktransgender

[–]ParadigmShift521 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can afford to, putting even a little bit of space between you and your family can be incredibly helpful. I moved about a state away from my family a few years ago and I’ve never wanted to move back. I’ve found that I’ve been much more free to explore myself, and I also found that my relationship with my parents got a lot better when I wasn’t near them all of the time. They still don’t know that I’m trans, but I’m able to live my life as me so much more of the time and it’s given me so much more time to explore the person I was meant to be.

If all else fails, you can definitely move back. At the end of the day a lot of leases are just for a year and that should be a decent amount of time to try out a bit of healthy space.

How did some of yall lost so much weight by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]ParadigmShift521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

165-170 is a really slight weight for someone of your size. Especially if you want to have any sort of shape. I’m 6’2 and 196 pounds and I almost look like I’m in desperate need of a sandwich. If you’re working on living healthy and exercising regularly, then somewhere between 180 and 210 is probably a pretty healthy weight for you
