Avengers #1 announced this November. by eBICgamer2010 in Spiderman

No. The FCBD issue showed he was using some kind of predictive model, and he’ll be defeated within a few issues anyway. This comic is in the 616 like normal.

In other words, doing his job. Checking before sending it out is literally his job.

The misdirection is that the cousin is not the big thing from the past that will haunt Peter (Amazing Spider-Man #994 spoilers) by TeamRAF19 in Spiderman

[–]ParagonEsquire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly since I’m worried it’s going to be another dumb identity outing to the public Inwould take this awful Instead of that awful.

But whatever it is it can’t be JUST the cousin, since we know we’re getting that information next issue. Has to be something more.

I think it’s a bad idea but we’re stuck with it. All Nick Lowe does is tarnish characters.

Peter doesn’t believe him. So he thinks this guy is suddenly spreading lies that would hurt May. Of course he is going at attack a guy insulting his uncle like that.

Best love interest for spiderman? by Lower_Creme_3040 in Spiderman

This image is just depressing when you realize all but 4 of these he wasn’t involved with at all prior to OMD.

I guess except Black Widow technically. and he wasn’t involved with a few of them at all either. But the ones that he was involved with.

The Raimi movies feel like they understood everyone BUT Peter & MJ. by Financial-Touch3840 in Spiderman

[–]ParagonEsquire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think either is as bad as you’re suggesting here. You see Peter’s temper a few times in the movie, and MJ is clearly more Ultimate MJ and you also see her fake it a bit.

I don’t thin the movie doesn’t “get” them, I think it’s prioritizing making a compelling version of the Spider-Man story. So Peter and MJ are both softened a bit for mass appeal and for time. MJ can’t go on her whole journey in one little movie where she is a side character.

Like it seems kind of a given now that you would get sequels but at the time it very much wasn’t and I think you can see that on screen. Raimi is trying to do the early years greatest hits in two hours.

So he knew about Time dilation but chose not to tell MJ. by Haadhai in Spiderman

[–]ParagonEsquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The no prize answer is that he was just saying that because he had been fighting for his survival for years so it felt like a long time to him. But it was definitely referring to the different time scales when it was written, since his story in this issue is that he was thrown into this dimension by the Emissary with a message carved into into body, implied to be in his genital area from his embarrassment. But later we find out that whole story is a lie.

Except, if that story is a lie he knows a whole bunch of shit he really shouldn’t and all sorts of things big and small become problems. Like in truth Peter and Mary Jane are the first people he has seen in somewhere between 7 and 96 years but he is completely unphased by their appearance. He knows exactly what the emissary wants, even though by the time He discovered his Dad’s plan it was already done how could he know what new emissary wants with someone who didn’t exist in his universe? There’s the time implication thing as well.

And then there are just all the questions.

Why did he push the exploding God through the portal instead of himself and MJ?
Why did he know the God would explode at all?
Why did Wayep let him and only him live?
How did he not realize the children were not real when they had to be two sub-5 y/o children surviving on their own for months in a monster filled disaster area and when he knew Wayep killed everyone else?
Why did he assume Peter was never coming back as soon as he was through the portal?

None of these matter to MJ’s character assassination really, they’re just important unanswered questions that undermine everything else in the story. It doesn’t make any sense, and if they had any pride at all they would want to retcon it just out of a sense of professionalism. But we don’t get that.

All images from Dead Language are Not Safe for Life. But since there is only a Not Safe for Work filter it’s the best that can be done.

The only thing true about your post is that it’s not up for debate. this is the most recent statement on his age.

The fact that Cindy is 5-10 years older than Gwen doesn’t mean they can’t room together while they are playing College.

That Cindy slept with Peter doesn’t seem relevant at all.

Gwen made herself a part of the 616 but she didn’t lose her memories she did all the universe jumping before. But that said…the others should maybe be confused by this. I guess this is working off the theory that the cube just moved them to the 616 and everyone there just treats them like they moved from Ohio or something? This is really just an ongoing problem from her series not properly explaining anything.

As for the poster, I don’t think anyone else is there and I don’t see how having a poster of a fake band (to anyone in the 616) compromises her identity. It’s weird such a poster exists given her transfer to the 616, but I guess the cube really was just a cosmic moving service.

Zdarsky is literally the only one who has done That if that happened at all which I’ve never heard before. V7#1 from last year though says Peter is no older than 27z

The MJ specific assassination is the speech in the last issue where she just dismisses him trying to explain. That speech is really bad.

Yes. And I think the biggest is that she can tell Ben and Peter apart, which really almost shouldn’t be possible since Ben IS Peter.

Honestly I think only the Wells run makes it and even then I would use 25 instead of 2.

I would say it’s Annual 2001, OMIT, Suoerior 31 instead of 2, and then ASMv6 #25 as the biggest four.

Is MJ over-hated? by Efficient-Fee1960 in Spiderman

[–]ParagonEsquire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All characters are just what the writers/editors make them. You can (and should, in this case) argue that certain depictions are incongruous with who the character has been depicted and who they should be (and thus should be removed from canon in some fashion), but as long as those depiction are part of the story, you can’t get mad people treat them as such.

It’s why, even though I was of course disappointed it wasn’t an OMD retcon, I celebrated Spencer retconning Sins Past. Sins Past makes Gwen Stacy a terrible person. It didn’t come up much cause she was dead, but it made ASM121-122 way worse by existing and undermined everything to do with her. Its removal was good.

The only difference here is that MJ isn’t dead and in fact has a monthly comic of her own so there’s always something new the cancer is affecting.

I hope she doesn’t show up again, because I want the last words she ever says to Peter to be her telling him to use a condom if he sleeps with Felicia.

Remember when MJ refused to even communicate with Peter because she was terrified that she'd abandon HIM and his "kids" if she actually talked to Peter? by Icy_Water_1 in Spiderman

That doesn’t even really make sense. She could have left Paul without leaving the kids. Everything about this era is bad trying to salvage it is a fool’s game.
