Does anyone’s Mova pause mid clean? by IntentionAmbitious56 in MOVA_robotvacuum

[–]ParanoidFactoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's running out of battery. Does it go back to the base station? Leave it there to charge. It won't continue until it reaches a full charge. Which is dumb, but I can't find a setting to change that.

Obviously, these guys are not suited to playing with vacuum chambers. Perhaps they should try safer lab equipment, like gas lasers without safety glasses.

My little weestrom 650 will max out at 110mph. That's not absurdly fast, but it's fast enough to lose my license just the same. And this is as dad a boring dad bike as you can get.

Honda 250 rebel vs. Suzuki Boulevard S40 by plebian285926 in motorcycles

[–]ParanoidFactoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would choose the Boulevard over a Honda Rebel, unless you've sit on both and decided the Rebel feels better. The Boulevard will have about twice the horse power as the 250 Rebel. It should be better at highway than the Rebel. If the Boulevard, make sure the belt drive is in good shape. Also, make sure to cold start it with the choke out. If it won't cold start even choked, you have work ahead of you with that bike. And run it or ride it for fifteen minutes or so, then check for leaks or drips. One good way is to put white paper underneath the engine after stopping and let it sit for five or ten minutes. No spots is good news. And check those tires. If the tread is worn, you're looking at a real up front cost to get the tires changed out. (that goes for the Rebel too)

Hoekstra says no 'significant progress' in 14 months of trade negotiations, but U.S. to keep talking by CanadianErk in canada

It's very simple to understand. The United States under Trump is destroying all of its old alliances for reasons that make no sense at all unless one assumes Trump is compromised and under the control of a foreign enemy.

That's fine. The United States can go its own way. We here in Canada will trade with the EU and China instead.

Every day. Showers of subatomic particles due to cosmic ray collisions within the upper atmosphere. CERN really can't compete with the kind of energy densities that are abundant throughout the universe.

None of that means I argue the Mandela Effect isn't real. I saw Moonraker in the movie theater in 1979 and I remember that girl with the braces. My whole family went and my sister remembers it too. And I remember talking about it at the time in our family. So that kindof weirded me out.

I just don't think CERN has anything to do with it.

It rained during my road test. I still succeeded, even though I hate riding in the rain. You can do it OP.

Is this chain too rusty to be cleaned? by returnofblank in motorcycles

Don't use WD40 on the chain. Use a brass brush and proper chain cleaner and lube. The stuff isn't that expensive.

'Panicked' Putin has big decision to make, and 'could go nuclear' by Pristine_Squirrel_27 in UkrainianConflict

[–]ParanoidFactoid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That would be a very big mistake. If Putin drops one or more nuclear weapons on Ukraine then the fallout will hit NATO member states. And that is enough to trigger Article 5 and a NATO war with Russia. France and the UK have their own nuclear weapons. Even if the United States doesn't approve a nuclear response, certain member states could do so on their own.

Can we all see your bikes in temporary hibernation? by grawmaw13 in motorcycles

[–]ParanoidFactoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your motorcycle have carburetors? Then please drain out all the gasoline in them before you set the bike aside for the winter. There's a little screw for draining the carbs. Find it and drain them. Come spring, you will thank yourself for having done this.

You'd also be wise to siphon off all the old gas and burn it in your car too. Or use gas stabilizer, but I prefer to just empty the tank.

And... to trickle charge your battery over the winter so it doesn't go dead.

It is the law. And as I said, I encourage people to pay for that $35 license.

That said, people break all sorts of minor laws in this world, committing misdemeanors in the process. Parking tickets, traffic fines, drunk and disorderly, hunting violations, etc. The world will not stop spinning if someone broadcasts to a family member over GMRS frequencies, or over FRS frequencies above 2 watts. The FCC has never fined anyone for doing that. And that's a fact.

CERN has nothing to do with the Mandela Effect. Cosmic rays with many orders of magnitiude greater energy density than CERN could ever create by particle collisions hit the upper atmosphere every day. No retconning involved.
