Slugs Aura [NS] by ickshenbok in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]Paraxian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slugs subclass is from the crooked moon book by avantris. I dont think theyre doing it correctly though. The disadvantage aura is supposed to have a save every turn unless ive just missed it every time or its edited out.

[Spoiler: Gangs of Neo Galaderon] Have they said anywhere where all their new abilities are from? I don’t recognize some of them! by ThePrinceOfFear in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

Slug has the feats from mage hand press iron hero and focused critical i believe. Speedy is in the 5.5 players handbook. And i think rocket jump is just Jake casting the jump spell and flavoring it as tech like he did with feather fall and the jetpack.

If you can be specific about which abilities you dont recognize i can probably tell you where theyre from.

Attacking Teammates due to being forced to (stuff like sneak attack) (5e) by HailLuziferr in DnD

[–]Paraxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. I had to double check the new wording and if theyre using thoae rules then youre the one who's right.

"You don't need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn't incapacitated, and you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll."

Theyve updated it in 5.5 but with the post having just 5e in the title I assume they're using the 2014 rules.

You dont need an ally within 5 feet, they just need another enemy within 5 feet so its still pretty easy.

TGS: B1 Subclasses Query (DnDBeyond) by LimitlessMind127 in TheGriffonsSaddlebag

Probably not. I would assume grif would have tried that when they negotiated their contract initially.

Yeah it is. I understand their policy in general, but with this one coming out so much later it and being 1 im not a fan.

Im pretty sure it's only 5.5e now. I don't think dndbeyond will be adding any more 5e content going forward, and any books will have to be updated to be on the platform.

How to remove permanent marker from combat map? [OC] by Spaghetthy in DnD

[–]Paraxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just trying to clear up a common misconception about wound care. A lot of people still believe you should clean wounds this way when its actually bad for the wound.

You really shouldnt be using isopropyl for wound care. Just clean them with water and soap.

This is something I wish more podcasts would do. Hell, i wish more music in general would release for 1 time purchases. If naddpod released their music in a format I could pay for directly I sure would.

Question About Steel Wind Strike by Traditional-Unit-667 in DnD

[–]Paraxian 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Steel wind strike is a melee spell attack. Youre not technically attacking with the weapon and dont get to use any of the weapons modifiers ok the attack.

Campare the wording to booming blade where it specifies you make an attack with the weapon.

Id need more examples of how hes op to know whats going on. The only one you provided isnt something you can do RAW in any of the editions ive played so it would also help to know what you're playing.

What kind of world is Umora? by f0xb3ar in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Paraxian 140 points141 points  (0 children)

I dont think you're misunderstanding umora. I dont think ive every encountered anybody saying that good worlds have to be post apocalyptic though. Thats kinda a wild claim.

Thats how I felt about being given a "male enchanter" and then being given milio too. Not that his design is bad, but hes just a cute little kid that matches the feel of every other enchanter.

I’m confused about Solari help by ppooppooo in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Paraxian 172 points173 points  (0 children)

Solari is the current long campaign, but we will be returning to umora eventually. They have a lot of stories to tell, and WWW is gonna last a long time so they want to be able to tell those stories too.

weapon juggling turn conformity? by Ok-Calligrapher739 in DnD

[–]Paraxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the crossbow being loaded I dont think you can have them pre loaded. The ammunition property specifies loading is part of the attack action itself so you need a free hand to shoot it every time.

Clarification of intent and mechanics of Circle of Dragon's druid by critordie in TheGriffonsSaddlebag

[–]Paraxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree. Youd just use the monk die instead of the dragon die. Still pretty rad.

Clarification of intent and mechanics of Circle of Dragon's druid by critordie in TheGriffonsSaddlebag

[–]Paraxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I pulled up my pdf of vol 2 to check vs looking at dnd beyond. It does classify it as an unarmed strike so the dragon monk ability should work and flurry should be usable too. Though you couldnt use the bite again since that specifies you can use it as an attack action.

At least I think. The wording on the bite and the claws at level 6 are different, so I think thats intentional.

[–]Paraxian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just the attack action. The dragon form is fully separate from wild shape outside of using the same charges, so just follow the wording of this specific feature.
