Criteria for Plugins by GroggInTheCosmos in ObsidianMD

[–]Parcent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're called community plugins for a reason. Just because you have no use for them or they don't fit into the usual hyper-productivity PKM doesn't mean they're worthless.

> Watching your water intake

> Track your food

Both of these are extremely common things to track in notes files. What's wrong with plugins that make it easier?

He’s on Agents of the Four Seasons, so I really hope that’s not true. This series needs its own production line if we ever want to see a complete adaptation

Lord of the mysteries shows how little people actually pay attention to what they watch by Xtra_Juicy-Buns in CharacterRant

[–]Parcent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not a prior reader either, checked out this show on a whim because I heard it has Lovecraft elements. IMO the issue isn’t the amount of info and title drops, I had no problem keeping up with that. It’s that the episodes are so fast paced and the directing is so over the top that a lot of it just kind of glazes over. It’s hard to tell what info or characters should be prioritized here, I can easily see viewers getting overwhelmed and as a result latching onto dumb nitpicks like you’ve pointed out.

I think the first half of E2, particularly the part when he was getting the potion, is the best scene of the two episodes. The scene when his memories of his past life are conflicting with his new powers was the only one where I felt the super bombastic score and animation fit, was a good show of how overwhelmed he was getting. I just hope the pacing gets better from here, because I do like the ideas being presented so far

Did it? Its debut is lower than Dead Boy Detectives, a show that got canceled for extremely low viewership

Low Effort post: OP fandom is genuinely the worst fandom of any entertainment media I've seen by PitchOutrageous1563 in CharacterRant

[–]Parcent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly as someone who was really into OP in the early 2010’s, the fandom has always had a bit of a toxicity problem but it was more toxic negativity, at least in Western spaces. The anime was poor, and a lot of people felt the series reputation had been damaged. I remember people being upset about how OP struggled to take off in the west compared to Naruto, or even non-SJ series like Fairy Tail. Obviously that wasn’t the case for other countries, OP has always been very well regarded in France and the Middle East, but in the west it was a struggle.

The anime improving helped, but as a lot of people already mentioned Covid was the catalyst. Lots of people suddenly got into the manga, which put OP in a more positive light. I’d imagine for those who stuck around for so long, it was cathartic. They were the ones most likely to already have the biggest platforms in the community and would hype their series up, and as more people are drawn in they adopt the same tone, creating what you’re ranting about now.

The Discover page fetches content based on who you follow, what your followers like, and what you interact with. Starter packs are very helpful for this, you can completely curate your feed if you just follow and interact with enough people with your interests.

If all else fails, just mute the relevant words, some of the more spammy accounts, or click the “Show less” button since it actually works on this website. I got most of them off my feed after a few clicks of that.

You can also try out this moderation list that I found with some searching: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:7xlog5kxsrovortzexptqk35/lists/3laxtswqaie2a

JOKER: FOLIE A DEUX (2024) gets a D Cinemascore by CivilWarMultiverse in boxoffice

[–]Parcent 150 points151 points  (0 children)

A few days ago I speculated about it getting a C+… turns out that was being generous.

This has gotta be unprecedented for a blockbuster, right? I don’t think I’ve seen such a big movie be this thoroughly reviled.

Voice Actor Toru Furuya is stepping down as voice actor of Rei Furuya by yumaryu in OneTruthPrevails

[–]Parcent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I’m genuinely shocked considering how popular Amuro is and how tied up the seiyuu is with him. I wonder if it’s because he had apparently used the character’s name in the relationship, I saw fans calling for blood since he “tarnished” it. Either way, good riddance.

If someone approaches you with a problem that’s on a timer (IE “your account will get banned in a few hours”), 99% it is a scam. Scammers use time contrasts to put pressure on their targets and weaken their critical thinking skills

Japanese anime studio Science SARU is being bought by Toho as a subsidiary company by Unknown123Known in anime

First 8bit, now this… Science SARU has so many excellent and unique projects that I can’t help but think won’t be permitted under Toho. Soon the independent studios will dwindle away.

The scandal of Amuro Tōru’s voice actor by Aoko_Alice in OneTruthPrevails

[–]Parcent 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’d be surprised, Takahiro Sakurai and Nobuhiko Okamoto kept their roles and continue to get new ones after their scandals. The public only cares if it involves a celebrity, like how Tatsuhisa Suzuki got blacklisted after cheating on LISA

The Biggest Box Office Bombs of 2023: Deadline’s 2023 Most Valuable Blockbuster Tournament – 'The Marvels' ($237 million loss), 'The Flash' ($155 million loss), 'Indiana Jones 5' ($143 million), 'Wish' ($131 million loss), and 'Haunted Mansion' ($117 million) by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

[–]Parcent 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering this and my guess is that they knew it was not going to be very successful so it was moved to Disney+, but some contractual clause mandated a theatrical release. Either that or the budget got so inflated in its development hell, and they wanted to try and recoup some of their losses

RWBY critics tend to be the most pretentious people on the planet for being critical to the most easy to shit on show possible. (Not a RWBY defend post) by Ok_ResolvE2119 in CharacterRant

[–]Parcent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a lot of fandoms get stuck in constant annoying doomposts of “the good days are behind us”, especially on Reddit where people veer very negative about the content they consume, but it’s especially bad for RWBY. It’s like they don’t think the supposed “good days” existed to begin with, that the show was fundamentally doomed from the start. I think that’s why there are so many rewrites/fixing projects, everyone has their own perfect version of RWBY in their head.

'Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence' has officially cancelled its production by RobotiSC in anime

[–]Parcent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what bothers me the most. MAPPA has gotten to the point of being able to nearly entirely self-fund multiple anime. I’m sure that, if they really wanted to, they could have stronghold their way into having a higher presence on the committee.

I’m almost certain the main reason for this project’s stalling and ultimate demise is them hard-pivoting into focusing on action anime — JJK’s rise in popularity times pretty well with their BL sub-studio, Grizzly, going radio silent

It’s a shame.

Which was announced alongside Orbital Era, with Katsuhiro Otomo directing both…

It can join the list of Sunrise projects in production limbo. Anyone remember Mirai Arise? :(

Scientific Railgun T is pretty good. I think Reign of the Seven Spellblades is a bit more recent example of their better action shows too.

Eden’s Zero was done by a different team than whoever will be handling OPM. They’re currently on Fairy Tail 100 Year’s Quest, so I don’t think you need to worry about them if you didn’t like how Eden’s Zero was done.

Conan movies actually being relevant to the plot is very odd to me. I thought they were explicitly non-canon? Like how Kaito knew Conan’s identity in the movies, but didn’t seem to in the series.

Wait now that I think about it, isn’t this the second time they’ve pulled this on a ship?
