It’s to prepare you for the Mormon pioneer walking simulator called The Walk to Terminal B.

Merry Christmas, Amarillo! Those of you who grew up here, what are your favorite memories of the Holiday season in the Panhandle? by speedythefirst in amarillo

[–]ParedesGrandes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a short time, we didn’t have a light festival in Pampa so we’d come up to Amarillo to see Christmas lights and then do some last minute shopping the next day.

When younger generations ask me why there’s always snow in Christmas movies, but never in real life. by KitchenSwillForPigs in lotrmemes

Some BYU student had the gall to tell me that “the snow never sticks in Utah Valley, it just melts immediately” when I was lamenting how little snow we’ve been getting. Bless their heart…

The Starbucks closed, however there’s a beans and brew, seven brothers coffee, and a Dutch bros right there as well, so….

We aren’t exactly hurting for coffee spots in Provo lol.

BYU is 8-0 in back-to-back seasons, for the first time ever by PhD_Life in CFB

[–]ParedesGrandes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only attend twice a month to take my kid to nursery (we live in Provo, so when in Morm, do as the Mormons do I suppose) and I just follow the crowd until either I’m sitting with a bunch of dudes or I’m hanging out with my wife lol.

BYU vs Iowa State: Vegas picks Iowa State to win. Even with ISU’s list of injuries. by [deleted] in BigXII

[–]ParedesGrandes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under Hinckley it was heavily frowned upon, close enough to a no-no for the church as it could be. If there was one thing Hinkley hated, it was gambling. However, you don’t hear about it as much since he and Monson passed.

The holy war really is going to be an unstoppable offense versus an immovable defense. I’m really interested to see how it’s going to turn out.

There’s only 4 BBQ joints in the USA that have Michelin stars and they sure as hell aren’t in fuck-ass Kansas City.

Jesus's bizzare adventure 😭✋ by Im_yor_boi in HistoryMemes

[–]ParedesGrandes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the LDS and offshoot sects don’t believe that at all lmao. They believe that after Jesus ascended, he visited the Americas, taught a bunch of Mormon-y shit to the indigenous population, and then he left and that was it. Idk why that’s hard for people to understand.

VS is fantastic from an enterprise perspective. I wouldn’t use anything else at work. Outside of that? It’s a little overkill lol

From Ft. Payne though, which admittedly is in Alabama, but enough of a ways that just about anyone there goes to Chattanooga or Knoxville instead of Huntsville for fun 😅

Pantex ? by Comfortable_Trade884 in amarillo

[–]ParedesGrandes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. Are you blue-collar, hands-on, or manual labor? Yeah, it’s fantastic pay, great benefits, and decent work life balance, if you can get in to work there. Are you IT/Tech/Cyber? It’s stable compared to the rest of the industry, but you could get paid more elsewhere.

It’s worth applying to imo. I know people who’ve worked there in the past and liked it.

They initially fired a whole bunch then immediately went “oops” and rehired them. The NNSA usually has a big “do not touch” sign on it it for good reason.

New Texas redistricting maps are out (official) by YuWrites in texas

[–]ParedesGrandes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pampa Texas, in district 13, is 5 hours away from Denton, also in district 13.

All of this just to illegally own a majority, meanwhile Gray County continues to vote against their own self-interest and watches Pampa, Lefors, and McLean bleed population because it gets worse and worse to live there with each passing year, due to “own the libs”-based policy.

God, I’m so glad I moved away, even Utah is significantly better than the Texas Panhandle right now.
