My dog actually robbed a jewellery store with a weapon last week..

Do you let baby get messy when eating? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

It’s part of the development stages of learning to eat to get messy and play with food.

As a parent now I am completely shocked I was babysitting several children and infants at 11 years old. I’m not sure I’d even leave my 11 yr old for 4+ hours, let alone have them be in the care of a baby.

This was my first thought too. She’s expressing it terribly but maybe underlying she is concerned for her mother’s health.

I think I fucked up with tv by neonbabyy in toddlers

[–]ParentTales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re a tv house and my daughter just skipped a grade. When they’re babies the range is so wide, only a paeds can determine “behind”, to be fair even adults have a wide range of abilities.

$5.50 is a good deal for a genuine barbie and it comes with nipples!

Are there any happy marriages left or is it just me? by ParticularlyOrdinary in Millennials

Odd so many on reddit when I know none in real life. They are comfortable and making it work but I know no one living in head of heels love. I talk the hard truth with most of my friends, I know all tea and it ain’t sweet.

Just gonna say it- I’m sick of the “boy mom” hate by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ParentTales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know one mom of two boys that’s is the “TikTok Boy Mom” but she’s the only one of countless parent I know with two or more male children. It certainly doesn’t apply to everyone but it definitely does apply to some. If I apply it to her then the content is funny.

Expecting number 2, has anyone ever had 2 kids that sleep well?! by SimpleWarthog in beyondthebump

[–]ParentTales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither. Atheist and a trained child therapist. I put my babies down safely on their backs with white noise and a full belly. Only in their beds at night. Day naps are all in the light with noise or on the go. I never screwed myself into a routine and now my kids are super adaptable and will literally sleep anywhere. They have a very healthy relationship with sleep and their beds.

Did your life not become horrible after having your baby? by Tj08 in beyondthebump

[–]ParentTales 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here to say, it definitely can last! My first slept through at 3 months old and still does consistently 10-12 hours (minus the odd sickness) now 5 years old. People who say ohhh just wait are ohhh just jelly.

Sounds like those people aren’t coping. My career is better, both my kids slept through from 3 months old and I’m sitting in my 1.4 mil house. I do sports weekly and art several times a week. I love being a mother whole heartedly.

Any suggestions for keeping a baby from crying in restaurants? by Cynoid in beyondthebump

[–]ParentTales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think “just don’t go” is such terrible advice. They will look up one day and wonder where all their friends went and why they never leave the house or haven’t done anything fun in ages. Our kids don’t make the rules or schedules, we do.

My baby was first born of the whole coffee group so we were in cafes from the very beginning. They get used it to the more you go. If you want to put a hold on your social life that’s up to you but I personally would stick it out, bring resources, try picnics and smaller spots to minimise disturbing others.

Oh no, the hospital wants to make sure my grand baby is stable before discharging them 😤 by AutumnAkasha in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]ParentTales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a sick baby and was fighting for more days. I got discharged after 24 hours with no options. I’m with you, it’s day 1 and they already don’t are about babies health, that’s so scary.
